“I have been using this door for 4 months and overall, it has been great. It is >90% reliable - the only issue arises if you use the manual override to open/close the door - then it does not always automatically go to the 'sun mode' to open again in the next day. I recommend this automatic door.”
“Has been broken since got it both doors and solar panel. Doesn't work this one door unless tie it up to hard electric. Solar panel was wired wrong other door just doesn't keep on. Tried multiple times contact manufacturer and they do not reply with info. They sent us a fuse is all which didn't fix the problem. Had bought from them their old model and that was great this new one I will try again to get fixed.”
“Does not work properly. It closes sometimes and opens sometimes. The quality looks great. This is the second one I have purchased in the last 7 years. Very disappointed with the customer service. THey told me to contact the manufacturer!!
How in the world can I replace the parts? I had to hire someone to install it. Not happy at all!”
“Ordered prior version and loved it. This one cannot be opened if there is a power failure as it does not have battery back up and the door has jammed partway up several mornings requiring a manual override.”
“I have had nothing but problems with this door. First upon purchase we tested the door to find out that the sensitivity of the function that reopens the door if there is a chicken in the way, was way in no way safe for the hens. The door closes and with a 2x4 in the doorway, would continue to close and would not reopen. We tried to adjust the sensitivity with the instructions the manufacturer sent, but that would not work either, and when we checked it again, we placed a cucumber in the doorway and then set it to close and the metal door sliced through the cucumber. This is not safe. We finally returned the door to factory settings and just set the open and close times to accommodate enough time to be after sun up and 20 minutes after sundown, to ensure that our hens would be completely in the roost before the door engages, and we watched it for a week to make sure the girls would come to no harm. Now, one week after installing it and making sure we would not have a blood bath on our hands, the door now will not open fully. For the the last two days, it only opens half way. We have to manually unplug and replug it to get it to open fully. Also, frustrating the situation is the fact that a retail outlet like my pet chicken is not open on weekends, when most people do their shopping etc., and that the manufacturer is also not available. This door is over $280 and I would stay clear away from it. No one seems to want to make this right either.”
“This door is what we expected; but we will be glad when the remote is available. We cut a small door near the controls to open/close the door and to use the other controls. Great customer service from the supplier as well.”
“Love the new door. It moves much slower than previous automatic chicken doors. Only issue just last few days as seems like it just stops or freezes and show 5:30. It will do nothing if I push any mode. I then unplug and replug and goes back to normal scheduled mode. Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch. Will contact you if this becomes a everyday issue. Before this it worked beautifully.”
“Installation was straight forward. Some instructions missing (for solar unit) but it was pretty obvious. Had some difficulty with setup but manufacturer answered the phone and was able to quickly troubleshoot the problem. Door opens and closes like MAGIC!! The ladies figured it out in two nights. No further chicken rodeo necessary. :)”
