OverEZ Automatic Chicken Coop Door Reviews

4.4 Rating 52 Reviews
This door has its ups and downs. It is supposed to. The good news: the ups and downs are timed perfectly. The girls, and I our case, a couple of boys, are in and out with the sun. I already had a solar panel. I added a 12v to 7.5v converter and the door is a perfect keeper of the house. Did I mention I did get the gps option, no forgetting to adjust the timer each month. The door runs smoothly. Well worth the cost and easy to install.

The auto door fails when our temperature is near zero or below... we are so disappointed in this.. I currently have it on timer the coordinates didn’t want to work for me.. I need to do more research on latitude etc....

This door is a life saver. The door works like a charm and the solar panel is a winner. Have had for over a month and gives me the piece of mind that my girls are not waiting on me in the morning if I’m running behind and not waiting for me at night if I’m out later than their bedtime. Also allows me the ability of weekend trips and allows neighbors to not have to go into the chicken run and get full of poop or attacked by the rooster but able to check on them during the day and handle food and water before the door opens. I’m not sure how I ever went without this product. Fast shipping and very well made. A chicken keepers dream.

Love this battery operated door. It was easy to program the Timer feature. The Sun Mode is more difficult to figure out, but I'll get to that feature in the Spring. The girls adjusted to it well, and it is very reliable with the exception of extreme cold weather. The door controls froze w/ regular batteries so I switched them out and put in lithium batteries for extreme weather conditions, and the door now has no problem handing Sub zero temps.

With the recent time change our chickens were up at dawn and waiting for us.... I felt bad so for everyone’s benefit we go the automatic chicken door. It was easy to install... besides the chickens all trying to “help” haha! The chickens caught on instantly and no one has been left outside. We would definitely recommend!

I resisted this concept for quite a while, as it seemed like a pretty pricey "convenience" item. Though I've only had it a week, I'm a believer. It's a true win-win: the girls get let out promptly and regularly (despite my irregular schedule), AND they get locked up safely at night. I don't have to stumble out in the dark and rain to close them up if I get home late, or play "chicken roulette," hoping nobody gets eaten before morning. It's too early for me to report on reliability, but if I have no problems there I would upgrade to 6 stars if I could. Speaking of upgrade, although I orderd the advanced I received the basic model, and customer service was quick to help me upgrade it to full features (requires only a password - go figure!).

Prior to purchase I lost 12 laying hens. I put a game camera in the coop and found it was a raccoon getting in at night. I installed the automatic advanced door and chickens are now safe. No more loss. Unfortunately in Pennsylvania I won’t be able to replace my hens til spring. Thank you.
