“Absolutely adore my Favaucana, Gertie! Unfortunately lost our other favaucana last year due to a dog attack but loved her as well, even though she was much more flighty. Gertie is super curious anytime people are outside and frequently jumps on my lap when I‚Äôm sitting outside. She‚Äôs super social and always talking with us. She lays small, beautiful turquoise eggs. The other laid the most gorgeous speckled sage green. Highly recommend this breed!!!”
“This is a great bird! Beautiful feathering with a major fluffy face! Calm, quiet and friendly. She just started laying a gorgeous sage/olive-y colored egg! So happy with her, definitely recommend.”
“Our hen looks just like the photo. She is not laying yet,so I cannot attest to the color of her eggs. She is a sweet chicken and has the funniest cluck. She sounds like a frog,so we have nick named her Kermie (Kermit ). She has the biggest muffs of any chicken we have ever had. She is so cute!”
“We love ours. So much personality. She‚Äôs called dreamer. She was the first one to start laying and lays medium green eggs as advertised. Looks just like the picture. 4 toes on one food and 5 on the other. She gets along with everyone and is the most food motivated bird we have. she is the loudest. She makes this growling sound to be let out in the morning and when she wants treats. Easiest bird to get in at night. Such a cool and unique girl. I liked her so much I got a couple favorelles for our flock and love them too.”
“My she turned out to be a he! MPC was very pleasant in making it right, but oh my. If I could keep a rooster, Finn would have been the rooster to keep. Absolutely stunning blue and white coloration, kind to the ladies, and a teddy bear to me, but not afraid to challenge a horse that came too close to check him out. I will order another Favaucana one day for my mixed flock, but right now my heart still belongs to Finn.”
“Cheeks is our blue favaucana. She is adventurous and friendly. She quickly learned to fly to an arm so we can lift her up to grab berries off the bushes. Her cheeks are so cute! We got her in May in Florida and she started laying 8 months later. She lays small bluish green eggs right now. I'm sure they will get bigger as time goes on. She is by far the most entertaining chicken in the yard.”
“I normally wouldn‚Äôt write a review until I have an input on egg production (or lack thereof). Finn, however, needs some praise. At 10 weeks old, she is GORGEOUS with her blue coloring, some red and white highlights on her wings, her sweet muffed face and funky feathered five toed feet. I kind of neglected this batch of chicks in terms of holding time, and yet she is still so attention seeking and lives for being held. If she turns out to be a good egg layer, I will get many more of this breed.”
“I ordered a blue favacauna in April 2018 along with 5 other chicks (2 orps, Cochin, australorp and EE) and she is my friendliest, chattiest, and a great layer consistently giving 5-6 eggs a week. She loves for me to rest my hand under her chest and she lets me just love on her, stroking her back as she nestles her head down into her body. She‚Äôs got the cutest little beard, beautiful coloring almost looks like lacing with darker lining along the edge of all her feathers. I highly recommend she does not disappoint. I love talking with her every time we spend time together bc she always has so much to say...and she only does this when I‚Äôm talking with her.”
