“These girls are LOUD, no other way to put it. Loud in a strange way & for no good reason. They seem to lack in personality. All my other girls talk nicely, these yell and are flighty. My Austrolorps and Opingtons are so much sweeter with fun and cute personalities, they are nice to love on and hold. But the favaucanas don't seem to be team players as they are more independent. As for some people mentioning their girls aren't very friendly, once they start laying, they become much nicer and you can then start holding them without the chase.”
“This is such a cool bird for so many reasons. She has the look of a halk. She is definitely the most independent. She likes to wander off and explore by herself. She gets along well with the others. It is really funny she honks like a goose. She loves to be pet. Waiting patiently for some green eggs:) I will say she is the first to pant in warmer weather.”
“She is almost 20 weeks and is definitely the boss of my little flock. She is LOUD. Like SUPER loud. My SO keeps thinking she is a rooster but she has been squatting for me and I know she is a hen. Looking forward to eggs but she is not as friendly as I hoped she would be. Maybe she will warm up more once she starts laying. She is basically a copy of the picture shown of an adult bird and definitely my favorite looks-wise. She does have a little bit of brow bleed-through on her chest and back.”
“We got MS. Tweedy Bird last June, we ordered two unfortunately one did not make it during shipping. However, Tweedy Bird is a big awesome hen she lays a large Green hen just about daily. I always know her egg is the biggest and a deep moss green. She is not a timid bird; but not bossy either. She will stick up for herself and sleeps in highest rafters in coop 7 1/2 feet tall flys up with the easter eggers to roost at night. She is a beautiful gray with dark gray head, is bigger than the Andulusion birds I would say about 6 pounds. She hangs out with them most of time but also likes the gray Lavender Orpingtons, as they are gray too and raised with her. She is quite friendly and will come and sit in my lap. She talks a lot to me and will give me a peck when she wants attention. Very intelligent bird a lot of fun in the flock. She is my husbands favorite bird, as lays Big green eggs and he is Irish loves green, so they have bonded. Just to funny to watch the two of them. Ordered two more in June and can't wait to see how they turn out, so far so good, beautiful birds you have sent us very happy with all your birds. Have a wide variety of colored eggs now so fun to collect the eggs. Like a box of chocolates never know what your going to get.”
“We just adopted a beautiful year old Favaucana from a family who got a baby chick from My Pet Chicken last year. She is a lovely blue grey color with lightly feathered feet and 5 toes on each foot (so cool)! Her previous owners had to find her a new country home because their neighbors were complaining about how LOUD she was. So far she is friendly even with new people and new flock members. She integrated seamlessly with our mixed flock of chickens (Buff Orpingtons, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Gold & Black Sexlinks and Easter Eggers. She talks often and she talks LOUD! The funny thing is once I set her down to meet our girls she started talking and 4 of our EE girls started responding and it was quite the racket. I look forward to many more wonderful years with "Gossip Girl Grey".”
“This is 3rd review. Yes, I still find my Katie as different than my others in the mixed flock but she's finally acting like she wants to be with the flock more and my daughter says she's very sweet natured. However, she is still individualistic, would've probably done better with birds like her or Favorelles, and spends months being broody (which could be great if you need a broody hen). I am bumping her star up to 3 and would give her a 4if she wasn't so broody.”
“Now that I've had Felicia for over a year I can tell you that she is still a beauty and lays a glorious colored blue/green egg. The downside for me is that she has gone seriously broody twice since I've gotten her. She is the most determined broody I've ever seen and I've had to put her in chicken jail to break her which is stressful on both of us. Also she and her sister, the lavender orpington, are the loudest of my girls. They always have something to say. In retrospect, she may not be the best bird for a city dweller. However, if I lived in the country I would have more.”
“Miss Cursive will decidedly not grow up to be a CEO, or an intellectual. She‚Äôs... just a tiny bit dim. She‚Äôs the last to catch on to what‚Äôs going on around her, and the first to poop in panic. She‚Äôs a good pooper, there‚Äôs no denying that, and she‚Äôs completely shameless about it.
Cursive definitely has splash coloration, she’s sort of milky, with grey spots, and a few dark smudges. I used to work with a woman named Erna, and we all wondered how Erna found her way into work each day. Like Erna, Cursive is easily distracted, and a bit nervous. She’s charming in her own late-to-the-party way, and I think she’ll be easily satisfied in life, which is more than I can say for her sister, Asthma.
Cursive can startle herself by flapping her wings, and she’s learned to perch, but seems bewildered by being a couple inches off the ground.
I hope I don‚Äôt seem unkind: I adore her, and she seems to not mind my existence terribly. She has a sort of Angela Lansbury quality, but I don‚Äôt think she‚Äôll be penning any mysteries. If she lays anywhere nearly as efficiently as she poops, she‚Äôll be worth her weight in gold. We love her.”
