“We ordered 8 Buff Orpingtons‚Ķ only 4 made the trip alive, and we currently have 1 not doing well at all. I am really sad that we had so few arrive healthy. I wish there was a better way to ship them safely so more of them survive that trip. The USPS had them sitting a full 24 hours in one post office, and I feel like that was a whole day where they could have been transporting them closer to us so we could take care of them.”
“My Buffs (2) are now one year old and I absolutely love them. One of them, "Penny" is my favorite hen of my flock. She comes when I call her- "Penny Pen Pen!" She loves to be held and stands and my feet to be picked up. I love all my orpingtons, 2 buffs/2lavenders/2 black austrolorphs so much so that I just ordered my second wave due next month of Lavenders/Buffs and am adding "Jubilee" and "Blue" orpingtons as well. I have even ordered an orpington rooster. MPC is awesome! All my chicks last year arrived healthy and a year later, remain so.”
“Lucy is a Buff Orpington. she was a great egg layer, leader, and pet. She also laid light brown eggs that were delicious! Lucy is a great chicken and I would get a Buff Orpington if I were you.”
“I purchased 6 Buff Orpington hens from My Pet Chicken arrived at 3 days of age on August 6TH.
They have been wonderful chicks. They are now teen agers 1 2 weeks of age. They are Fantastic
chickens. They are very friendly, very calm and they can be easily handled. When they are out in
their Run they are so very very quiet and do not disturb my neighbors. I highly recommend this
breed. I may purchase a few more chicks from My Pet Chicken and they will be Buff Orpington
Hens.

“Bubbles is now 2.5 years old. She doesn‚Äôt get it. All she wants to do is be a mama. She lays tons of large eggs, but is more than happy to hatch anyone‚Äôs eggs. She‚Äôs kind to the newbies in the flock, and loves people. And yet she still hasn‚Äôt had the chance to raise babies. One day, Bubbles, one day. Until then, she waits patiently, singing the song of her people from any perch that makes her voice seem the loudest.”
“I purchased 2 buffs March 2018 and 1 died yesterday. I found her in the coop. Quite upset as she was running around the day before and had laid an egg. Have no idea as to the cause. My chickens are truly my pets and based on their temperament and gentle nature, I would purchase this breed again in a heart beat. Again just devastating to lose one without knowing why.”
“I purchased 10 pullets, two of which are Buffs. They are sweet, docile birds. They are now both 11 weeks old and my favorite hens of the bunch! Penny is sweet and likes to be held. I highly recommend this breed!”
“We ordered our Buff Orpingtons two years ago. They are super healthy and great layers even through the winter. Heat does not seem to bother them, although they always have shade, winters are a breeze for them here in the North East. The tips of their combs can get a touch frost bit if it's a really bad winter, a dab of Vaseline will help. Amazingly sweet and calm. Easy to pet, catch and pick up, they are at your feet as soon as the see you. Love them so much that we just ordered a mix of 6 day old chicks and added two more Buff Orpington. Highly recommend if you have children and want a friendly social bird. We adore ours.”
