Bill (short for Wilhelmina) lays lovely brown eggs with beautiful speckles. She's a nice friendly hen, very pretty and alert.

She's about 10 weeks now and so far, so good. She is the least friendly of the bunch but still friendly and docile. She comes running when she sees me and will jump on my lap/shoulders.

I purchased these Comets back in spring this year 2021 and I don’t regret it! Intelligent and one of the first ones to make friends with me and my family! They showed they was courage’s since they was a baby chick and till today and smart as a whip? I could tell you stories but to long!! Lol I’m glad I went with them! I read a review on here that the photos don’t do them any justice and so I’m telling you they’re much more prettier in person! You won’t regret getting them! And they lay everyday since they started!! Extremely happy!

We only ordered one of these beauties for our small backyard flock, but our Red Star is the best layer. She was the first to lay at around 22 weeks and has been consistent ever since. We get a XXL brown egg everyday (well she takes off a day once every few weeks). Our Red Star hen has beautiful strawberry blond feathers and it quite the personality. She is the leader in the picking order but she still friendly with the other chickens and is easy to handle. I would highly recommend this breed to anyone.

They are all laying now and never miss a day. I trained them to the nesting place with wooden eggs. One Mille Fleur d’Uccles rooster escorts every move they make. I have four more Mille Fleur d’Uccles in the group with more on order. I moved the quail out when they were almost grown because they were so tiny next to them and was afraid the larger birds would harm them. They are free ranged so the feed cost is low. I will be ordering more. Oh, one likes to sit on my head before bedtime every now and then :)

I have a flock of 100+ birds laying varied color eggs for sale. I have my ladies in groups according to breed. One of my favorites is the Golden Buff. They certainly do their job in terms of laying! But it is the personality that insures their place in my flock. This past spring, I had a little girl who would get on my porch and lay her daily egg in the box where I had my lettuce growing. Yea, my lettuce suffered a bit, but watching her come up and do her thing was so pleasant in a year filled with turmoil. These gentle souls are perfect for small flocks and homes with children.

We got our Holly in Sping 2020 in a motley crew of 5 hens. She was the first one to lay at 19 weeks and lays every single day. She was on the bottom of the pecking order as a chick, but currently she is on top (3 ladies aren't laying yet) and is now a bit of a jerk. She was a very adorable and sweet yellow chick and now fully feathered, she has beautiful coloring (stock photo does no justice). Happy we got her and will purchase again in the future!

We ordered 17 day-old chicks a year ago, a variety of (cold weather) breeds because we were new to chickens. The Red Stars have been the absolute best: good temperament, docile, don't eat eggs (that's been a problem), don't go cannibalistic (also a problem), lay HUGE brown eggs reliably, more healthy and resistant to mites, and they can be sexed by color at hatching!! (We got an accidental rooster of another breed.) We're about to re-up our flock, and planning to get 20-40, all Red Stars.
