“Ordered 3 different types of chicks. All arrived alive and healthy. My baby silked EE is so friendly and mellow! The other chicks are crazy compared to her. At first I thought something might be wrong with her since she’s always so chill, but I think she’s just a little sweetheart. She loves being held too!”
“I ordered 2 females, and love how they are each unique from one another. One is a little crazier than the other, has crazy hair, fluffy checks, black beak so we named her Harley Quinn. The other one is pretty, delicate, with a yellow beak and we named her Marilyn Monroe. They are now 4 months old. We love them, BUT they started crowing?! We have 11 other female chickens (australorps and Wyandottes) so think they are just trying to be boss - and hope they aren’t truly a Harry and Marty.”
Thank you for leaving a review on your two Silked White Easter Eggers. It is fun to see the different personalities that chicks have! Their names are wonderful! We are very sorry to hear that you might have a Harry and Marty. We will reach out to you directly in regards to sexing error policy.
“We received our three silked white easter eggers last week. One of them didn't make it through the night. Rest in peace #3. It's been a week and they have changed so much. Their wings become more feathered everyday. I am curious about sizes though. Nemo had a case of pasty butt which we took care of on day three. She seems recovered however she is smaller than here sister Jessie. She is eating, drinking, chirping, running and acting like her sister. Her size makes me a little worried about her long term outlook but overall seems happy. Having baby chicks is so interesting! We will add them to our hens (Light Brahma and Splash Americauna) that we got as pullets from MPC. They are doing very well. The Americauna started laying light blue eggs last week. I wish I could have more chickens but wwe have a small backyard and an unhappy neighbor.”
“Like a few of the reviews suggested, I ordered more than one of these chicks since they stick together. I ordered one female and one straight-run. I was happy whether the chick turned out to be a hen or rooster. I ended up having a rooster. He’s beautiful and sweet. My hen is much smaller. She’s very petite. They are so different! My rooster has an extra toe like silkies typically do, but my hen does not. The thing they both have in common is how beautiful and docile they are… though my rooster is beautiful in his own way. He looks like Danny DaVito; he has long feathers around his head and neck, but no long feathers on top of his head like the female (Dolly) has. He had a walnut-shaped comb. He makes me laugh!”
Hello Holly, Thank you for your thoughtful review of your Silked White Easter Eggers. Did you know that, while Silked Easter Egger chicks hatch out different colors, they all end up white? The chicks will have a random combination of muffs, beards and crests, and their skin will be either slate green or black in color. They typically will have feathered legs and feet, varying from lightly to heavily feathered. About 95% of their eggs will be blue in color and the remainder will be cream-colored — but 100% will be great egg layers!
