How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Students were able to look into an investigation in groups. This way those students who were not so confident could learn from other students in the class. Students talked about measurement and athletics e.g. High Jump and Long Jump. Students could measure their distance with long Jump.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? statistics, An Olympics Day or afternoon,
This Kit was very helpful to consolidate and support students' learning and understanding of statistics. This kit also provided students with a purpose and a greater understanding of measurement. Students were positive and had a great time with this learning. This kit enabled students to work with alll students in the class in a posiitive 'can do' attitude. it was also helpful as a lead-in to measurement.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? It fitted in well as we'd previously learned about time, and the measurement was interesting. As I couldn't observe inside and outside activities, we mainly stuck to the timed events.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Literacy, maths
Engaging activities for the students, however in a hub with time constraints and not all teachers in hub signing up as asked it proved difficult. Students were keen but at Year 4/5 level it took a long time to move to the next phase and understand the why... they just wanted to try the challenges.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Lots of maths, reading and writing opportunities were present. Our Science topic was ‘The Science of Sport’ so we had links to this also.
This was the perfect School Kit to use alongside the 2024 Olympic Games. The planning sheet is easy to read with links to all of the attached posters and documents.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Literacy - adjectives, comparative adjectives and superlative adjectives. Excellent!
We loved the hands on creative activities that we could do. The teamwork and helping each other out with each of the data gathering activities was a great way to get everyone working together. It was also a great way to learn what superlatives are.

Students analysed previous records from Guiness Books and had to come up with their own. It was great because some students were headstrong with their idea and when it came to their rotation it failed. They went back to the coloured cards and replanned.
