What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? PE, Maths, Reading, Writing, and Inquiry.
I originally requested the DIY World Records kit to work alongside teaching my students about the Olympics. The kit came with plenty of resources and was easy to use alongside my inquiry unit. The students enjoyed the variation of activities and resources. They thought the kit was fun, exciting, and engaging. I would definitely use a kit like this again. Thank you!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? I feel that we incorporated many curriculum areas.
We loved the kit so much. There was a lot of in-depth learning, and a super duper amount of fun was had. We enjoyed the auaha (creativity and innovation) that the kit involved. It also made an excellent-looking display.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Linking it to goal setting - is what you are setting out to do measurable - what are you measuring with this goal? Also, when doing scientific experiments, understanding the term 'variable' was helpful and a good connection.

This kit was great to help students think about how we measure things - is it time, distance, amount etc - and consider variables. The guidance in creating their own really drew out their creativity and made for a great class bonding activity. It was also perfect timing with the Olympics - a great real world connection.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Mathematics, Literacy, Digital Tech, PE, Health, The Arts
I used this unit with the year 3 & 4 syndicate, about 50 kids broken into two groups. They did it as part of an interchange and had about 6 sessions on it each over a term. It was a very engaging unit, and students were all really excited for each new session. They loved watching other world records, and enjoyed the process of making a world record. The biggest challenge came when we were attempting world records as students soon discovered there world record was too easy/hard or needed a lot of equipment. If we had more time on the unit, I'd let students go back and tweak their record to make it more acheivable/challenging.

Fun, engaging, and a great companion to our inquiry on the Olympics. However, my heavily ESOL, mostly Year 4 class struggled with some of the concepts, particularly coming up with the records.
