This kit was great to help students think about how we measure things - is it time, distance, amount etc - and consider variables. The guidance in creating their own really drew out their creativity and made for a great class bonding activity. It was also perfect timing with the Olympics - a great real world connection.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Mathematics, Literacy, Digital Tech, PE, Health, The Arts
I used this unit with the year 3 & 4 syndicate, about 50 kids broken into two groups. They did it as part of an interchange and had about 6 sessions on it each over a term. It was a very engaging unit, and students were all really excited for each new session. They loved watching other world records, and enjoyed the process of making a world record. The biggest challenge came when we were attempting world records as students soon discovered there world record was too easy/hard or needed a lot of equipment. If we had more time on the unit, I'd let students go back and tweak their record to make it more acheivable/challenging.

Fun, engaging, and a great companion to our inquiry on the Olympics. However, my heavily ESOL, mostly Year 4 class struggled with some of the concepts, particularly coming up with the records.

Thought the ideas and resources were excellent. A lot of fun for our tamariki and a great way of learning. The most difficult part of your resources is that the planning sheet is it is not very teacher- friendly and needs to be broken down more so we can more readily pick it up and use.
