What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We were able to use our information for writing, by planning and hypothesising (that's a bit of science), and by writing about/reflecting onthe experience.
What an amazing kit to motivate students to achieve their own goals. It really sparked the students’ creativity as they came up with their own challenges.

What was the most unique record achieved and why? Either drinking a cup of water in the fastest time (while hopping with shoes on backwards) or painting the most realistic cat with feet only (although this was not a breakable record)

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We linked it into literacy quite a bit at first, when we were planning the records. We also had many links to PE and social studies (with the olympics and history of)
I selected this kit because it fit in nicely with what we were learning about the olympics, and gave the students some more 'hands-on' type learning. It did result in a lot of chaos, and a few overly-competitive boys found not winning challenging. We learnt through trial and error, the need to have measurable records planned, and what this actually meant. 2 or the first 3 records attempted were not repeatable (breakable), and the children had to learn this by making initial mistakes. We improved as we went on, and I think the children had a lot of fun.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Most of their attempts involved counting. It also involved counting on strategies we have been learning during the term when they had to work out 'how many more' they had to complete to win a challenge.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Maths, Physical Education, Technology, Literacy (sorry my photos would not load)
This was a really cool kit for my intermediate students. We based it around learning about world records and the criteria required for a world record to be recognised. The kids loved making their own propsed records and testing them on each other. The kids enjoyed looking at world records that were a little unusual, gross and interesting.

This was a great ace to have up my sleeve. While the girls were out of class for a self-defence course over two days we ran this World Records School Kit with my boys. They simply loved it, were engaged, saw it as something fun and different while the girls were having their fun and it was a great platform to incorporate several strands of learning. Incorporated: Commnication, creativity, sentence structure, physical activity, measurement, and statistics.
