What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Social science aspects with the Olympics
This was one of my favourite school kit resources. It easy to manage within the classroom setting and you could easily do it with just the teacher. The kids really enjoyed the competiitive parts of it and because some activities were not reliant on physical ability eg -coin spin, everyone had an equal chance. It was engaging and fun.

The DIY World Records kit was a fantastic addition to our classroom, providing an engaging and interactive way for students to explore their learning. It was a great opportunity to link our stats and measurement lessons to fun, hands-on activities. The students were fully immersed in attempting different world records, and it allowed them to apply their skills in a practical, exciting context. This kit not only sparked curiosity but also reinforced key concepts in a memorable way. Highly recommend it for making learning both educational and entertaining!

This is the second time I have used this kit and it was enjoyed just as much this time as it was the first time I used it. It is fun! The children really enjoy creating the records and the step by step instructions with the colour coded cards make it easy to do. The You Tube clips of World records are also a great starter activity.

What was the most unique record achieved and why? Writing their name as many times as they could in a minute - this helped focus them on capital letters (proper nouns) and children that were having trouble with reversals because if capital letters were missing or a reversal letter was in the name it didn't count!!! Great for healthy competition.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Maths and Writing along with collaboration and communication
Our class of year 7/8 learners really enjoyed the process of developing world records that our peers could attempt. We learned alot about how to define actions and rules for our records. It was a great way to move through the editing and recrafting process without actually realising that was what we were doing! Attempting the records across our class was fun and we learned alot about communication and officiating.
