This is the second time I have used this kit and it was enjoyed just as much this time as it was the first time I used it. It is fun! The children really enjoy creating the records and the step by step instructions with the colour coded cards make it easy to do. The You Tube clips of World records are also a great starter activity.

What was the most unique record achieved and why? Writing their name as many times as they could in a minute - this helped focus them on capital letters (proper nouns) and children that were having trouble with reversals because if capital letters were missing or a reversal letter was in the name it didn't count!!! Great for healthy competition.

This was a very engaging kit that all children could be involved with and highly engaged. They loved coming up with the ideas and then challenging themselves and others in a positive learning environment. The children loved the equipment that come with the kit and the collaboration and communication was very high with a great success rate for all children!!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Maths and Writing along with collaboration and communication
Our class of year 7/8 learners really enjoyed the process of developing world records that our peers could attempt. We learned alot about how to define actions and rules for our records. It was a great way to move through the editing and recrafting process without actually realising that was what we were doing! Attempting the records across our class was fun and we learned alot about communication and officiating.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Inquiry interest, writing topic ideas and reading articles and stories related to world records.
This was a very engaging and entertaining kit. They students struggled in the beginning with the idea of superlatives and how to write each part then add in the superlative in. The students really enjoyed mixing all the different parts of the world record to make new ones up. Once we had done all the teaching around this, they very much enjoyed trying and completing the records.
