What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? There was so much we could do across the curriculum, not just mathematics.
We used this kit in conjunction with the Paris Olympics, which worked so well! It was easy to follow and enabled the children to 'think outside the square' when coming up with their own world record ideas.

The kids enjoyed it. If we were to do it again we would spend more time looking at past world records and attempt those before attempting our own. They struggled to come up with measurable world record attempts.

There were some great activities here but it took me a while to figure out how I would use it in my class. I like how it was an integrated unit and very relevant to the Olympics this year.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? across all areas.
Our class loved this. Lots of prior knowledge about world records - the olympics helped immensely. The kaupapa hit literacy - numeracy in one. The mahi covered around language - vocabulary - grammar was awesome feed in to building a world record statement. Completing and mastering eachothers world records was awesome! Mostly in the need to gather - steal each others badges once the record was bettered. Lots of competition especially for my boys. A kit that I will definately get again.
