“We used this kit in conjunction with the Paris Olympics, which worked so well! It was easy to follow and enabled the children to 'think outside the square' when coming up with their own world record ideas.”

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Measurement and statistical thinking - the kids were motivated and driven to complete the tasks - it was almost like the math component was non existent.

“Our class loved this. Lots of prior knowledge about world records - the olympics helped immensely. The kaupapa hit literacy - numeracy in one. The mahi covered around language - vocabulary - grammar was awesome feed in to building a world record statement. Completing and mastering eachothers world records was awesome! Mostly in the need to gather - steal each others badges once the record was bettered. Lots of competition especially for my boys. A kit that I will definately get again.”
