How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? I think I could incorporate this model locally. It would be awesome to have local stories that are more relevant to the students.

“Students enjoyed the website although for many of my students, it was aimed too high - even the lower level activities. This is something that I personally will have to work on. Having the photos was amazing - they started lots of discussion not only at school but at home as well. I am aiming to continue using the kit next term as students want to learn more,.”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We have many stories in our area that we continually explore anyway - the POW camp and Remutaka Rail Trail etc

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Definitely, last term we looked at our local histories while writing a team production, we found the stories were what reasonated with our audience.

“Bravo to the creators of this kit! It was easy to use, ignited discussion, intrigue and passion among my learners. The concept of using stories and pepeha ensured students could relate to their own experiences. It was so wonderful to teach our history about our places, our experiences, using our stories. Could not recommend enough!”

“Students were engaged with the content and enjoyed researching the story we used. I found the new delivery model less easy compared to a PDF with links. Haven’t yet found out how to use the paper bag resources effectively or how to link them to the stories. The site is harder to navigate in that respect but no doubt using it more it will help with that.”
