We still recognise that we need to increase our own subject knowledge to be able to confidently teach this subject to our students.

It's really interesting to hear individual stories and about the lived experience of our communities. We have looked into some more stories of the same cultures to help us get a broader sense of the experience, so our tamariki learn that these were not just one families stories.

This was useful as there are many stories out there in the community and so knowing they have been specifically chosen by people in those communities made us feel confident that the perspectives and viewpoints were reliable.
