“This was a great kit to create awareness of individuals self esteem levels and to recognise it in others in the learning space. We took the opportunity to discuss things that dysregulate us and matched it withthe Zones of Reguylation. This allowed discussion around things that make the day more difficult and things to be able to help us find what calms us down and allows us to refocus! An awesome kit with great wee resources to facilitate well being and recognise differences in others. recommended!”

“Initially I thought it was a bit waffly for my students (country kids, 20 boys, 6 girls: Year 7/8). They enjoyed watching the videos but a few pop-ups on the side were off topic and were looking at themes that I did not want to get into or think was appropriate.”

Was there a particular component that struck a chord with your class? The Circle of Influence Map and trusted adult activities resonated most. Students loved discovering the stories behind the values passed down to them and felt genuinely connected to the people who support them.

The Rise & Shine routines and strengths tracking have helped them acknowledge one another’s resilience and encourage each other more.

Was there a particular component that struck a chord with your class? Daily check in's really helped, my students could reach out for help in a way that didn't feel so vulnerable and I was able to help them more effectively by knowing what was going on in their lives.

How has this the kit influenced the way in which students speak to each other? Absolutely yes there is much more kindness.

Which response stood out most? .They were shocked at how many women didn't say think they were beautiful, including themselves. The harshness of ourselves towards ourselves really struck a chord with them.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Hopefully they will take it with them when they move into mainstream high school. I hope that they are able to teach thier peers the same things that I taught them, and I hope that other teachers can raise them up to who they are meant to be.

So many of our students with low self esteem and having the option to check in anonymously, reflect on themselves and thier lives, finding and talking to trusted adults and taking time to notice our strengths has been a real game changer for us. A really great kit and I hope that many of our students take this strength with them, and treat themselves and thier bodies with a lot more kindness and positive affirmations.”
