“I wanted to love this kit, as I have loved all the others. The kids just didn't really seem to get involved in this one for some reason. Many declared that they didn't want to be a vet and it became the main negative throughout. Lots did find it interesting though.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Students loved the posters, the Petrie dish, to the heartbeats and especially the glasses! The whole theme of animals and caring for them fits in so well to a Year 4 class of animal lovers.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? No feedback from parents yet but students overall engaged well with the content and enjoyed the unit.

“First time user of one of these kits so it took a bit for me to navigate my way around the resources and how to use them. I loved the idea behind this with students becoming junior vets and assisting to diagnose animals from the stories. The physical resources were fantastic and engaged the students. I used it with a Year 7 and 8 class who I only see once a week for Science so I did find it hard to keep the flow going with the teaching and also missed quite a few of the activities due to limited time. If I did it again I would try to get another teacher involved to teach this across several subjects eg: digital technology or English but this was hard to coordinate this time around. One critique I have is that my students were at the top of age range suggested but found the reading material quite hard in some areas with a lot of specific language and ideas that they were very unfamilar with. I would think that Year 5 and 6 would find many of the medical terms hard to understand. Another thing I struggled with was how to present the digital resources to the students. We use google classroom at our school but there didn't seem to be an easy way to link digital resources without manually copying and pasting videos etc or information from some of hte online resources so I ended up having to make quite a few of my own digital resources to share online eg; the cat practice diagnosis or the videos for becoming an expert. Please update me if there is an easy way to share with the students that I missed.”
