How effective was the "Vet School" component in engaging students in the diagnostic process?

How did this resource help students understand process of elimination using data analysis? It was a good way to develop this skill, as it felt like 'real life'. Some of the younger students struggled a bit to eliminate, but the older ones clued on pretty well.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? The students all loved it.

“I used this with a group of 20 students from years 4-6. They absolutely loved doing the case studies and working out what was wrong with the animals and how they could treat them. I used the information provided to make a couple of scavenger hunts for them and they especially loved this. The link with the fairy tales was a really easy way to link everything together. I downloaded some readers theatre for each of the fairy tales and added this in to the programme too.”

“A group of 8 students have absolutely loved the Story Vets kit. It started with the kit, and some great vetinary skills were put into practice to find out what was wrong with each animal, the note taking and crossing off options was a skill that needed support. The students havent stopped, they have visited a Vet and are organising a visit out the back of the Vet next term. They have completed reading, writing and posters about animals and are so engaged. It all started with your kit, the inspiration for these students to find their passion.”

How did this resource help students understand process of elimination using data analysis? For most of my students it was very helpful and enabled them to develop a greater understanding of the whole data analysis process

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? They found it really fun and enjoyable

How did the activity help students make connections between circuit theory and real-world applications? This was an area we had not previously explored so they gained a good amount of understanding and can now see it in the real world

“My class were very excited when I introduced the kit to them. They had a good amount of fun exploring all the diffrent problems and undergoing the diagnostic process. It also got a few of my boys really excited about coding something we did a bit more learning around after the unpluged coding activity. Overall, it was a good opertunity for some learning that is quite diffrent to our normal day to day reading, writing and maths.”
