What barriers do your students face to access healthy eating? The cost of healthy ingredients and the time/energy constraints of their parents lives
We used this kit with a couple of smallish elective groups because our kitchen facilities are limited. This worked well and everyone got to have a go and share their thoughts. This kit's approach invited students to approach cooking as being more about the process than about them getting something yummy to eat

How can the learning in the kit go beyond the classroom to improve whānau wellbeing? If you ran a term on healthy eating, then invited families to come in and see the learning, having the cake samples out for tasting.
What barriers do your students face to access healthy eating? My children are only 8-9 years old, so the barrier would be their parents and what they choose or can afford in the weekly shopping.
The resource box was great with the vegetable things we needed to begin our investigation. The steps on how to go about planning the lessons were really hard to follow and after trying to make contact on the chat page and getting no reply I ended up creating my plan for the kids. The idea behind the vegetable cake was a great concept as the children definitely didn't think cake could taste nice with vegetables in it and the look on their faces at times was priceless. I left it a bit late in the term to start and would suggest x2 lessons a week for a whole term in order to do justice to the investigation, trialling and redesigning phases.
