We want to collate the huge number of steps from accross NZ, please share your final number with us. Our steps in total came to 901,086!! Woo hoo, we felt very pleased with our efforts!
Sorry it has taken so long to get the results to you. Ti Kouka thoroughly enjoyed doing this kit. The children really began to think outside the box on ways they could increase their numbers. We did find it hard to get our families involved in this, but we decided that as long as we were moving and our own steps were progressing that was a great personal achievement. We found it very interesting how the different pedometers measure steps differently! The girls really liked the little finger ones the most, whereas the boys liked the clickers! We would definitely do this kit again.

We want to collate the huge number of steps from accross NZ, please share your final number with us. With a whooping 613, 123 steps over the time we have got the kit! We loved get steps donated from our friends and family it helped our little legs to fall off (:
This kit was a great way to motivate students to move coming into the warmer weather. We explored using various methods of exercise to see how many steps we got from each. We found some of the step collectors were fairer than others so the students said if we add the total and divide it by the number of students it gave us an average for each child. All round another great interactive and engaging kit School Kit.

We want to collate the huge number of steps from accross NZ, please share your final number with us. We didnt get to this part as we ran out of time
Found the resources inside this kit awesome and very creative. The kids loved the light up shoe laces! It would have been beneficial if there were more direct teaching lessons around the topic to know how to implement the program best

This year was not as engaging as other years for the students, mostly because they don't have their own device to count with. It did not fit with what we had expected it to be from a teaching point of view, and the kids were less engaged with it.

We loved this project and all the extremely engaging equipment. We had so many other outside agencies and tasks to complete at this time of term so unfortunately we did not make our entire length of NZ. We are going to complete it within the next few weeks though. The plan was amazing and the students learned so much about NZ and measurement using a variety of tools.

We used this kit to kick start our fitness and well being preparation for our upcoming camp. Our students were so excited with the step counters/pedometers although they quickly discovered that some were better than others. The reliability of the final count from individual students was questionable, although the math's learning and collaborative nature of the learning was highly valuable. The learning was purposeful, relevant and fun.

We want to collate the huge number of steps from accross NZ, please share your final number with us. Unsure - we made it down NZ though!
This kit was a great concept and we planned term 3 cross country training around it. Unfortunately, the kit was late being dispatched so I started with the teacher's notes from the website. These notes were good and kick-started our training. By the time the pedometers arrived, we were basically finished so didn't use them. The children were disappointed that the pedometers were all different.
