What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? this was a fun and engaging activity which brought about some competition in the student groups. They found it interesting how having water instead of fizzy could help to reduce water waste. This lead into a discussion about healthy choices also. They were also facinated by how much water they can save by just turning off the tap while brushing their teeth.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? They realise that little choices they make can add up and make a big difference. This started a dicussion about kaitiakitanga and how we can all make better choices for our environment.

This is a fun and engaging unit that helps students grasp the value of saving water. I found this especially relevant regarding issues like 3 waters and climate change. The students loved collecting the stamps and the charts made the learning visible and engaging.

What a great kit to help students to see that they can make a difference to our world without having to make huge gestures. My students enjoyed learning about their water footprint and the small changes that they can make at home which together, add up to a big difference. I particularly enjoyed the generational learning involved.

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? This was really helpful for statistics and recording our data on the charts. Students were most surprised at tap water usage (filling a cup of water vs jug and washing hands/brushing teeth). We tested the suggested usage amounts out and they were actually quite accurate.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? In a world where we consume, consume, consume, they might now be aware on how their decisions impact the greater world.

I was really impressed with the WaterSavers24 tool. I wanted to teach statistics in a relevant context, and this tool was a suitable learning resource for our summer months, where many students are on tank water. The resource also enabled students to take some ownership of home learning (recording their water use at home) and explored the wider issue of water consumption. Overall Year 7&8 students engaged in the process and enjoyed it.

The Water Savers 24 was filled with awesome activities and the tamariki loved realising that they had made a real difference towards reducing their water wastage and recycling their used water for many different purposes. Having the "containers" on the wall was a great visual and brought home to them just how much water as a group and as a family they were using. Great feedback from the whānau as well. The water cycle in a bag was such a simple but effective way to model the water cycle and one that I will always use going forward. Lots of work was needed to ensure that the measurements were accurate so the combination of science and maths in the form of measurement and statistics to provide the evidence was a powerful one.

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? Yes we stamped daily but it took a long time to get through everyone's stamping, so then we moved to stamping anytime during the day to spread it all out.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? It has fostered a great deal of awareness, and they spread the word to family members. Parents were really shocked in the range of water the different showers used in the one minute challenge.

I had to use the watersavers kit for a year 3/4 class that I got put with, after I had ordered the kit. I thought it might prove a little difficult, so we glanced over some of the concepts. However, they loved tracking their water use at home and got quite serious about it. They made some really great digital posters to help spread the word. We had some fantastic insights to water use at home. And found out that a dishwasher uses less water than filling a sink.

My students enjoyed doing this kit. However I would have liked more participation but becausse of illnesses, absences other curricular activities happening and maybe it was the end of term timing. Some parts of the tasks weren't completed due to these reasons. What they did enjoy were the water conservation. I had a few students complete a class survey to see what water savers were a habit.

My Year 7 and 8 class was engaged during this unit of work and has enjoyed recording and seeing their water saving results. They were surprised that their little acts for saving water added to a large volume of water when 28 people worked together. The badges were also a hit! Thank you.
