“I was scammed out of $200. I signed up on Goodwill web site and some how got you! I thought they were contracted with you and some how they charge, I am not sure how I got you otherwise! I did not ask to be charged $200, I was donating to Goodwill. I was trapped.”
“They kept pushing more and more nonsense charges. One guy stood around on the phone
the whole time.
He said " he was too tired and didn't sleep last night". They said " If it takes longer than 2 hours they charge more."
Good thing I moved everything to the living room area. Even at the end when they were done, the same guy refused to let me pay. He was " looking for his keys." He took my screw driver and a few scissors I had on the counter I told him " not to touch."
Next time I'll look elsewhere for junk removal.
AVOID!”
“Way Too Exspensive really. It seems like we wher charged twice. Once for Volume Rate then again for Bedload rate. Over $700 for one piano. Seems like a guessing game when they arrive.”
“Misleading about price, rude service from one of the removal guys. Strange remarks and ready to argue me because I wasn’t aware of the cost. Felt pressured to give a 10 star review and tip. Afterwards I felt uncomfortable and ripped off. Will never use again and will never recommend.”
“Can I do zero stars? I asked for two plastic crates to not be removed. My wife asked twice. They're gone. And, when I asked to possibly get from landfill area, we were told that 800-GOT-JUNK lies about what happens to the materials hauled off. We were told it would be at a certain location to retrieve our lost two crates. When I contacted agency they said, "No, that is gone immediately." We were also told the refuge location separated what was Goodwill related vs trash. Nope,.....all trash. We donated over $500 in shoes and paid nearly $2,000. Both a waste of time and money.”
“Buyer beware! I called 1-800-JUNK and got an estimate, which was $80 less than a local hauler's estimate, so I scheduled a pickup. When 1-800-JUNK arrived, I was shown the rate sheet and in reality, my pickup was $250 over the estimate I had gotten on the call. Apparently, the call center is in Canada and they notoriously give estimates way below the actual cost. This is a classic bait and switch. I was livid, but I needed the furniture removed then and there, as the replacement was already scheduled for delivery. My advice to you is to get an in-person estimate and decide whether you want 1-800-JUNK to do your hauling. I was told that they can do short noticfication pickups, so that is an advantage. On another positive note, the two people who came to do the hauling were extremely thoughtful, efficient and professional. They were the only good part of the experience.”
“It is doubtful that I will use service again. This was my first time using the service. If the company had been upfront about the pricing structure, we would have delayed the service until we had more things to dispose of. And, instead of saying we take paint, reveal what the actual extra cost is for paint cans (needless to say, we put the paint cans back in a box and we'll dispose of another way). If we had not already prepared for the few things that were ready for disposal, I would have completely declined the service. No one forced me; just felt that there wasn't a viable option.”
“Extremely displeased by the bait and switch aspect of your company. I provided a very detailed account of the exact number of items we have and was told by customer service rep Kevin that it would take one truck ~$750 total cost, maybe 1/3 of a second truck. When the local team arrived, they told us of a $150 labor charge not mentioned by Kevin and they estimated our truck total at more than $3000. -- When our family was evaluating options and comparing quotes, we went with your company due to the value promised. We were not prepared to pay >$3000 that day. We were there from out of town and expected to have the house empty by day's end. We are now stuck trying to find options for removal of the rest of our items from 3 hours away.”
