Bad company. Will find all sorts of reasons to add fees and charges. Customer support incredibly rude and seem to make it up as they go along. I had a monthly contract with 1st central for my car insurance ). After two months they believe they found a mistake on my initial application. I declared a claim from 2019 as not my fault (my car was hit and the other driver left the scene) but they believe its my fault and have ‘corrected’ my policy by charging me an additional £138.80 for the year, increasing my monthly payments from £32.61 to £48.509. My no claims bonus was 8-years protected, and unaffected by the claim. Making a new application on a comparison site with the fault as my own to see how much it should affect my premium and 1st central are again the cheapest but are quoting me less than my original policy at only £24.13 a month for the same policy in writing. 1st central were not prepared to compromise when i contacted them but were more than happy to charge me £154.43 for cancelling and starting that other identical but cheaper policy. When asked if it cancelled on the third of sept as that was the next payment date, i was told that would be £175 for a £50 cancelation and £120 for some reason. I cancelled and found another provider leaving me substantially out of pocket. Avoid this company like the vampires they are.

Hi I have had insurance before with 1st Central and moved away last year by the attraction of a cheaper quote.. Unfortunately the correspondence was appalling so i decided to return this year as 1st central are very organised and competitive so im here to stay....Thankyou for your business

Please give your existing customers a better price when renewing their policy and not make out you have already done this when you send a quote .

Hi Ashley I have just contacted 1st Central and was on hold for 20 minutes only to be put through to another department when I did get through then l was cut off. Could you give me a direct line to someone please or give me a more precise way of contacting central more quickly and efficiently

Has anybody else had a problem with this insurance I have been sent this bill and I am not sure it’s genuine. It states as the driving license dates were not correct stating when they were issued we have to pay this additional amount. I do not remember writing exact dates and if I did I would like proof . As a result, your premium has been recalculated and there is an additional amount of £131.59 due . (including a £50 administration fee).

I went with this insurance through compare the market, they charged me £75 for a policy change for the value of 29p because of an incorrect date. They did this 3 months after I took out the policy. Avoid, I tried to save money by going with them now I really regret it. Customer service is also terrible, the agents don’t listen to you and and make false promises. They just want to make money out of you, god forbid if you have an accident and need help.

Terrible company to deal with. I wanted to change my car so I called them and was told they could not insure my new car as it was a grey import (A standard Mazda, so I'm not sure what the problem would have been) but the lady in the call centre said they would not charge a cancelation fee as they could not insure my car. I was pleased that it appeared they had some good points. Sadly that did not last long. Once I got my new car and cancelled the insurance with 1st Central I was told I would have to pay £50, I interrupted the script reader to say the other person had said I would not have to pay a cancelation fee as they could not insure my new car. Are you ready for the punch line? This is not a cancelation fee, it's an arrangement fee! I made a formal complaint and received a call from another script reader, they made "an offer" to which I politely said I was not on the phone to negotiate, I wanted my £50 back - He put the phone down on me! How professional is that! Then I noticed somebody had complained on Facebook about them and 1st Central published the customers mobile phone number in the public forum, I sent the guy a text to let him know and as you can imagine the chap was not best pleased to have personal information displayed for all to see. It took several hours to remove the post. I would avoid this company at all costs!

I bought my car insurance and still can't see on my account. 3 weeks later I bought new car and asked for cancelation my last one policy, but helpline couldn't help me. Customer assistant promissed me cancelation, but I'm waiting 7 days and still no confirmation and still no money.

I was very impressed with the level of cover offered on the car insurance with 1st Central ~ and it was the cheapest out there by a significant margin! However even without me changing any details, the quote kept changing price - in the end, I had to pay more than was initially quoted 1 hour earlier...maybe I was just too slow but that was a little bit frustrating to have seen a cheaper deal but for it to have gone in the space of 30-45 minutes but hey!

The worse inssurance company they will take your money by any means once you pay your bill 2 weeks later they will send an email that you missed an info and they will charge uh fortune I just put wrong day date and they charged me £144.65 be aware that's how they make money

Took out a policy and issues arose due to small print not making statements clearer, there is no free cancellation period will cost you £50 regardless of 14 days cooling off period !!
