Bunch of crooks,got called to say my occupation was wrong as i'm now retired and they charged me £100.

I contacted First Central regarding a non-fault claim, it was noted that my phone number on the system was wrong, so the person on the phone offered to change it. Got an email a couple of weeks later stating that I owed First Central £33.86. I contacted them and was told that the £33.86 was a charge for changing details on my policy (my phone number). I stated that I was not informed of any charge and would not have agreed to change the number (as it was my partners number) had I known that it would cost me £33.86. After a few emails and phone calls back and forward (and after listening to the recording of my first call, to verify that I wasn’t lying..) they agreed that I hadn’t been informed at the time and removed the charge. A lot of stress for something which could’ve been avoided.

They rely on the internet system that is not reliable. Whenever you make changes the system can not keep it. The company focused on charging you extra fees rather than helping you.

Absolutely disgusting been charged 73.35 to change address, after renewal , time to look for another insurer. Would not reccomend anyone to use you.

Promise 14 day refund if cancel. Wanted to charge me £50 to cancel after 4 hrs. Value car at £1100 when trade price £1750 retail £3500. Will cancel on return from holiday. Total cowboys.

The £50 non-refundable arrangement fee is mentioned during the process of setting up a policy. We do also list all of our fees on our website - https://www.1stcentralinsurance.com/car-insurance/important-information. But, we waive the cancellation fee at this time. If you wait till after the 14 days, the cancellation fee will need to be paid, plus any premium for the policy. We’ll use your comments to help improve our service. Ashley

On chat, advisor quoted two wrong facts. Confirmed I had to pay a cancellation fee although I was only into the contract by two days, well within the cooling off period. He also maintained that the policy was not a new policy as it ran for the last year. I was actually insured elsewhere!! Makes me wonder what other things could be totally wrong.

Can’t get onto website, logging in isn’t the issue, I want to change a car on the policy and I can’t do anything apart from log in, really annoying

Terrible customer service, as quotation by a customer service personnel was £560.00 more than doing a change online. Which was also £780.00 more than another insurance provider. 1st Central are only interested in piling charges when you ten want to cancel your policy for doing absolutely nothing.

Getting the insurance was fine BUT trying to log in to your account and insurance certificate is just so bloody annoying you just seem to go round in circles. Please make it easier . Just read some customer reviews not to good , I’m beginning to think I made a bad decision going with 1st central but time will tell

Not very customer friendly. Made a small mistake in the application and less than 24hours after taking out the policy I contacted them and they wouldn’t fix it without a £50 charge

Has anybody else had a problem with this insurance I have been sent this bill and I am not sure it’s genuine. It states as the driving license dates were not correct stating when they were issued we have to pay this additional amount. I do not remember writing exact dates and if I did I would like proof . As a result, your premium has been recalculated and there is an additional amount of £131.59 due . (including a £50 administration fee).

I have recently paid for a new policy. However, the quote that I saw on Compare the Market includes Personal Accident and Courtesy Car but the when I paid and logged into my policy online, it states these are optional extras (another £65.00) I believe. If it is correct, it is very misleading, as there are other policies which would have ended up being more cost effective. Screen grabs attached.

£30 to change my address, then £50 to change my car, all on top of my paid in full insurance, next year I’ll go with a more expensive company that doesn’t charge this and has better perks. I feel robbed after years of never claiming

I took my cover online fully Comprehensive social domestic and pleasure I had a accident went to claim but told my claim can not be covered as I was going to work an dint have commuting on policy I dint get the option to do so . It’s now in the hands off Insurance ombudsman’s the mangers phone manner is not good talking over you late at phoning you back when a time is set an don’t apologise for it avoid this company after sales is shocking there miss selling car insurance
