Had a major issue regarding a purchase Involving a scammer ; tried to stop payment and did with plenty of time; after 30 days, they released the money back, and I was told that I initiated the process incorrectly and I was treated horrible…. You have no protection with Barclays in fact, they spin it around where it’s your fault, They prolong the process then they end up telling you it’s been too long and they can’t do anything for you.. I am out over $1000 with no merchandise because Barclays would not listen to the issue and understand that I was in a scam situation didn’t even bother contacting scammers and good luck, reaching anybody in upper management my advice stay away from Barclays… I am 61 years old. This has been the worst customer service business situation I have ever been in my entire life thanks, Barclays….”

“I spend 45 minutes, yes, 45 minutes on the phone trying to resolve an issue. I received a call from a "Spam" number. I never answer spam calls. The caller left a message. It was a call from Barclay's security so I called back in less than 5 minutes. I thought it was fishy because of the spam phone number, so I called the number on the back of my card. Sure enough, it was a call from the security department. I had to verify all sorts of information and then was told, Never mind, we already canceled the transaction. WHAT? Then they told me that a hold was placed on my account and I would have to wait up to four days to use the account. I was transferred twice, disconnected, once, and asked to verify my information three times. The customer service is the worst ever. In four days, after this issue is resolved, I'm cashing out my points and cancelling the card. Bad customer service is an understatement.”

“Barclays did not respond to the questions in my dispute. They said the vendor had not violated the invoice/contract terms and conditions. It appears they took the vendors word that they did nothing wrong. Meanwhile, I was charged over $1100 for a ticket I never saw. I would not recommend getting a Barclays American Airlines Advantage card. I will be parting ways with the card and airlines. Deep regrets!”
“Terrible service and attitude!!! First, I received a voice mail, wanting me to call back to an 800#. I did, they answered as Barclays and asked for my full credit card number and social security number--clearly a fraud. I tried to get call Barclays fraud department to let them know about this and found it was nearly impossible to get through to them. Second, for years I have paid on time (usually the day I receive the bill) and in full. This month my bill arrived unusually late, I immediately paid it, but they did not receive the payment by the deadline. They immediately put a hold on my card. When I called to complain, I got nothing but sarcasm from their representative. I'm taking my business elsewhere!!! I suggest you do the same.”

First time i called , everything went fine but the Bank account was frozen so I called again and they refused to even give me the total. “i have been a customer of jetblue from the being but i am now done with barclays . They keep shutting down my card not for late or none pay payment but for patriot act. They say once a year they need me to call them to tell that i don’t do business with Iraq, Iran, Cuba, et etc. no other credit card i have does this. they say once a year they do this , well it’s happen to me several time this year and when my card is shut offf all my employees card also get shut down. i am small business in new york i have no business outside new york but maybe because i purchase gas for my car from a local gas station its considered that i am dealing with iran or iraq ? Shame of it is i love jetblue and get points for using barclays card , now no more ! jetblue please bring back amex , barclays really really sucks !”
“Used this credit card for over 20 years and once paid off my current balance will never use them again. Reduced my credit limit based on what they say was a credit alert. My credit score has gone up and I have reduced my outstanding balance on all my cards. Tried to discuss no assistance no contact. Terrible customer service.”
“worst credit card provider, never even think to get any card from them. it is impossible to reach the customer service and they are not able to manage the customer matters. I received a forms from them which i have completed twice and sent them back to keep the card active, however they simply blocked the card and online access, which prevented me from making the balance payment and to download bank statements for the company accounts. it is absolutely ridicules i tried to call them from overseas so many times spent minimum 30min waiting with no success to speak to anyone.”
