“Bait and Switch on price
I recently sold my phone to this company and the entire experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. It’s all a bait and switch on Price. I agreed to a certain trade-in value when I sent in my phone, but after they received it, they said that the battery life is only 79% and there’s a small scratch (phone sieste with screen protector and case) they offered me a much lower price, initially 330 and then 219. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, which is completely unprofessional.
When I declined their new, lower offer, they told me I had to pay for the postage if I wanted my phone back! This is ridiculous, considering they were the ones who changed the deal after I sent them my phone.
This entire process felt dishonest and like they were trying to take advantage of me. I would not recommend doing business with them unless you’re prepared to be lowballed and then charged extra if you want your device returned.
Save yourself the hassle and look for a company that respects its customers and honours its agreements.”
“Scam company. Sent perfect iPhone 13 , was quoted £305. Said it was worth £0.00 when the received it. The phone is perfect, was using it up until day I sent it. Fine if it’s not worth £300.. but £0 is valueless. How can a good working phone be valueless. Then has to spend £12 getting it back. Absolute conmen”
“They offered me £577 for my phone ,which was the highest of all the other sites on the comparison site,so I sent off for a postage label, after sending my phone off ,I checked reviews on this site, which I was expecting the worse after reading bad review after bad reviews, but they checked my phone and it passed all their checks and the sent she £577 the next day ,was very pleased with the service, despite all the bad reviews, I have had no issues using them.”
“I made the most stupid decision of my life when I decided to invest on a platform that only had positive reviews everywhere to deceive more people. Everything was going well until I decided to make a big withdrawal, they had let me withdraw a small amount at first and this even made me trust them even more until i needed to make a big withdrawal, they denied this and instead made me make several deposits as “tax” in order to approve my withdrawal of 275,000 dollars,This went on for another three weeks and i had already lost a fortune and it didn’t look like they were going to release anything. That was the moment i realized what i had gotten myself into, i plunged into acute depression for about a month before i got in touch with a team that helped me recoup my loss, i didn’t even think it was possible i just had to send a mail to ( alexivictimhelps @ mail . com ) as i was directed by someone i confided. If i wasn’t lucky enough to have gotten that information, i am sure they would have easily gotten away with ruining me financially”
“It was a nearly new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. My son only bought it this year, but he died suddenly, so I'm dealing with his belongings and selling
the phone. Webuyanyphone Offered £569 then, when they got it, they reduced it to £120. They also said that I applied to purchase CyberSentry, which I did not and I got an alert from Google to say that I needed to change my passwords for sites I use as the passwords were found on tge Internet.
I've asked for the phone to be returned but I'll have to wait and see if they send it back. I'm going to report them to Action fraud.”
“An absolute scam! My husband sold his mobile to Webuyanyphone, who then passed ALL his information to Cybersentry.
A Direct debit was set up and £6.95 was taken from our bank account.
We've read Webuyanyphone terms and conditions and if you don't cancel the subscription, you'll be charged the same amount for the first 6 months, after that it is £14.95/month!!!”
“Stay away from this company of conmen!!! I sent my phone over a week ago, after receiving a valuation of £191 in good condition.
They received it the day after and all of a sudden was only worth £130 as it has a tiny mark about a millimetre on the bottom corner. The screen is perfect as is the back and in perfect working order. So it is in my eyes in VERY GOOD condition. But I thought that I would edge on the side of caution. I had previously been offered £170 at a shop, so told them thanks but no thanks. They still have my phone and are now telling me that I have to pay to have the phone sent back to me. Surely”
“I'm not the type of person to leave a comment like this but I'm very let down. They promote the idea of a quick payment but I've been a week and i haven't been paid. I really hate disingenuous companies like this that trick you into picking them based on quick payments but when you do business with them it's a completely different matter. Its deeply dishonest. Pay people money when you say you're going to pay them.”
“Scam company, I recorded video before sending my phone with no marks on it then they said the screen has scratches?! And downgrade my phone!! No option to request returning except I had to call them!”
“This company is a scam! They took my immaculate iPhone where they offered £600 online and then offered me £225…?? Absolute con of a company STAY AWAY SCAM. I’m now trying to get my phone back!”
“What a Scam
Videod my phone before I sent it out and the test video they send me of both phone looked suspiciously worse than the phone I took.
Quoted 200 on the website, passed all the tests and for a phone that lived in a case all of its life with no cracks or dents etc, the amended value was £35 :)”
“Sent in a perfect iPhone13 and they said it was a bit dirty (tiny mark where the case had been) price went to £195 from £272…. Yeah… right! Demanding my phone back asap!!!?”
“claiming my phone is damaged when it literally just needs cleaning it was immaculate even on the video they have sent you can see it literally needs wiping and they knocked off 233 for it!!!!”
