“Great experience with customer service. Was able to change the speed of shipping after the order. That said, if im paying $400 for a shell wallet, I wouldn’t need to condition it once I get it. The leather was somewhat dry - I’ll need to hit it with cordovan conditioner. This is an easy solution and im not going to hit your review on that because the overall construction of the wallet is fantastic and so is the customer service. Just wanted to let you know about the need for conditioning to maintain the leather’s suppleness”

“Fox! I am very happy with this wallet. Started this whole thing looking for a custom build. Ended up with this private stock fox. I am very impressed with the quality! Not sure if this will be my forever wallet. I have always been willing to pay for quality. I was looking for something smaller. 15 years with my previous wallet this is quite a bit of change as far as size. Time will tell. Hey still looking to have one made. Ashland I challenge you to step up! Bet you would be successful and it would give you an opportunity for a new design.”

“The Joe Batters wallet design and tumbled natural shell cordovan came to my attention watching several Ashland Leather Co. videos. Combining the design concept with what I consider to be the most memorably handsome shell cordovan material that I have ever seen would result in what I believed could be the "grail wallet" in my collection. With help from the Ashland staff, a custom order was placed and I received the tumbled natural shell cordovan Joe Batters this past Monday. To put it bluntly, I was blown away! The visual impact of the tumbled natural shell cordovan in the hand is many times greater that it was looking at it in a video image...it is the most handsome hide I have ever seen. The hand of the hide is shockingly pleasant..feeling almost like velvet to the touch, yet characteristically one of the toughest hides to be had. The Joe Batters design incorporates every feature and capability I could ever imagine needing or perhaps just wanting in a wallet. And the perfection of the wallets construction goes way beyoud the work result of a leather craftsman, indeed standing as the creation of an artist working in leather. Frankly, the only reservation I have experienced with this purchase is that every time I am carrying my Joe Batters, I find myself almost compelled to keep pulling it out of my right front pocket to feel that amazing hide in my hand and to inhale the intoxicating fragrance of the leather, while once again enjoying it's visual impact. Thank you Ashland Leather for a job done perfectly! You do great work.”
