“The natural chromexcel belt is well made. However, I wish the belt's edges had been beveled. My belt has "fuzzy" edges. I also wish the belt had Chicago Screws, giving the option to switch out to a different buckle finish. I kind of have buyer's remorse after finding a different brand that offers a belt with the same weight chromexcel leather, and the features I mentioned.”

“For $150 I was kind of disappointed. Looks great, but already scuffed and scratched just from being in my pocket with some other items like a phone. Maybe it is durable, time will tell. But if this thing lasts years and years it's going to look like tree bark. The leather seems overly soft and to me feels like not the quality I was expecting. Maybe I am just uninformed and bought a luxury item I do not understand. But yeah, kind of 'meh' feelings about the purchase. Wanted to support local. I don't live some overly active extroverted lifestyle, so it was pretty surprising to see how worn this thing is already.”

“I’m not sure. I’m still trying to figure out if this is actually whiskey or its just bourbon that Ashland is choosing to call whiskey. I was a bit excited this may be some old deadstocked whiskey. I’ve spoken to Matt, he says there is no difference, but I have reached out to Horween as well.”

“I would rate the quality of my wallet as five star. I am dismayed that I received the 10% offer after I made my purchase, so, the incentive did not work for me. Also, the 10% had a time limit. I am considering a belt and it would be great if I could apply a 10% discount toward a future purchase. All in all I am very satisfied with my wallet.”

“Hi Phil, I purchased the Johnny Fox as a gift for my son's first big promotion, because your website claimed it had a less than obvious area for presumably larger denomination bills, etc. If you could show me that location or explain its absence, I'd appreciate it... That promoted feature was why I putchased the Fox.”

“Great comb and the leather sheath it came in was well crafted. Unfortunately I couldn’t remove the comb from the leather scabbard as it was so tight. I started cutting a seam at a time and heaving on the comb until it came free. Destroyed the leather but the comb has been awesome.”

“I love the wallet but there is an issue I have with the card pockets. Only on the right side, the edges at the top of each pocket are not sturdy enough and are exposing the lighter colored leather underneath. It might seem minor to some, but since it is in an area that will receive the most use I expected it to be more robust to stand up to normal use. Especially since the other pockets are fine.”

“I've been a loyal (and VERY happy) customer for many years. It would be embarrassing to state how many Ashland Leather wallets I have, not to mention other items such as lighter holders, belts, etc. However, some of the more recent "experimental" products simply fall short of expectation. I was excited to see folding knife sheaths offered, even though the price was a hefty $40. I took a chance and what I received doesn't fit any folding knife I own (I have 27). Freakishly wide, and nothing special as far as construction goes. I'm used to much better from this brand. Highly disappointed.”

“Overall i like the wallet, the materials are very high quality. However this wallet is horrific for carrying coins. The coins work there way out of the coin pouch and then fall out completely when the wallet is opened. This shouldn't be an issue, not adding a small button to the coin pouch was a major oversight. Also there were tons of marks on the wallet despite being new. I don't care that much as im hoping for patina but i'd expect better. Also they should use a slightly thinner leather. It is a bit stiff and bulky for a zip wallet.”

“Minimal, Light & Low Profile For the price, I was expecting it to be less rough around the edges (see pics) Didn’t feel like going through the effort to exchange it. I’ve fully embraced the digital tap to pay era, this is just a replacement for my failing wallet. Good feel, good smell… Here’s to hoping it hold up years past my previous one.”

“Absolutely love the shell cordovan leather quality, however the craftsmanship is disappointing. Edge of the wallet where the leather meets are uneven, the inner leather piece is protruding out. Dark spot on one of the edge. Was willing to accept some flaws but this is a bit too much. Sadly had to return it. 3 stars for good leather and customer service.”

“I’m pleased with the wallet overall. It carries well and seems to be holding up, although more time is required to be sure. My only complaint is the finishing on the edges of the wallet as they are far rougher than you would expect at this price point. One side feels significantly smoother than the other. Other than the finish work, the wallet is robustly made”

“I ordered the Johnny the Fox in Cordovan. The exterior was exquisite. The interior was unfortunately not of uniform colors. My wife was not pleased with the quality. Although there are variations in natural leather colors, this was a variation that probably should not have been identified as first quality. I have made arrangements to exchange it for a first quality one. The response was quick, but it is currently out of stock. I have sent back the first one. Will await the new one.”
