Went to A&E today 02nd of November, and left waiting for hours due to blood test results not being available, and staff didn't bother to advise. Will rather try another A&E than going back there. Useless, and no care.

I was unresponsive from a accident overdoes. My husband rung 999. He said there response was very good. It was 20 minutes for the paramedics to come. They were excellent i can not thank them enough they saved my life. I was taken to the hospital. The doctor that took care of was very kind and caring. I at to stay in as my heart had some problems so they wanted to keep me in until everything was ok. The staff and doctors in the ward. We're very kind. They took care of me.A big thank you to the paramedics .Doctors and staff. ❤️

Tried the retreat restaurant for breakfast bit disappointed, compared to the old restaurant breakfast was very bland, and uninviting considering nearly ten pound for two small breakfast and two teas. Staff friendly enough wouldn’t visit again Costa seems better value which has always been expensive.

Please can letters from Hospital include the department from which they are sent? This is basic information which is missing and should be a standard. Please involve patients in designing these letter templates. Please can age of people awaiting first appointments be considered, this can cause added stress and anxiety waiting. Thank you.

Apologies for submitting this review late. My daughter, Munashe, was born at Basildon Hospital on 16/05/2022 via cesarean section. This was the best experience we have ever had. All the staff were just amazing and made the experience memorable for us. The midwife, the doctors, and the health care assistants were all fantastic. I think I remember Amanda and Charlotte. Thank you all; you are the best, and the work you do is critical.

After an operation (at another hospital) I developed what I believed to be an infection and was advised to go to my nearest hospital (Basildon) A&E. You are meant to take a ticket when you enter A&E (I was told this after queuing to speak to a receptionist), I saw no signs indicting this was the procedure prior to queuing and speaking to a receptionist. After seeing a nurse who took my blood pressure and oxygen levels, another nurse who took blood, after six hours I saw who I presumed was a Doctor who was wearing a prayer hat and whose English was rudimentary at best. The Doctor berated me for not having a pice of paper that the lsat nurse i had seen had kept. I explained to the Doctor that I had surgery to my neck/back and i felt it was inflamed, they replied "have you got eyes in the back of your head then", I responded no but I can feel the inflammation, its hot and I also have a wife and a mirror at home . The Doctor then asked me "what is your nearest pharmacy" I told them they then asked m "is it open", I said no as it was late Sunday afternoon, and the Doctor then responded "why did you give me that pharmacy if its not open", I replied you asked me which was my nearest pharmacy not whether it was open? I asked whether the pharmacy at Basildon Hospital was and the Doctor replied "of course not its Sunday". I eventually travelled to Grays to a pharmacy that was open to get anti inflammatories and anti-biotics The Doctor came across as an irritable little man who had little time for patients, and incidently the toilets at A&E are a disgrace.

I cant say anything about the staff (except possibly the cleaners) but this is meant to be a hospital rather than a smelly dirty dingey dive exemplifying the unholy alliance of Britain as a national health service with a country attached to it along with the wonders of unending cohesion-degrading diversity. Exhibit A: the urinals in the disgusting gents lavs near Boots pharmacy whose state over consecutive days suggested it was acting as a job-creation scheme for the place -

I have nothing but praise for the staff in x-ray, A&E and minor injuries department. I attended the Basildon Hospital during the morning of 4th July. My GP had referred me to x-ray with a suspected broken wrist. My x-ray took place on time, I was informed immediately afterwards by the technician that I had indeed broken my wrist and referred to the Minor Injuries Department in A&E. I only had to wait 15 minutes to be assessed by a doctor who then referred me to the actual Minor Injuries unit, which again I only had to wait around 20 minutes. Was praised for having managed to not dislodge the break in the previous three and a half weeks since the accident, and fitted with a splint. The whole process only took between 75 and 90 minutes which I felt was extremely quick. Everyone was very pleasant, had a smile on their faces and we had a laugh together. Thank you very much every in these departments.

My daughter fell off her horse and went too children’s ED with a very injured arm. From the moment we walked into the hospital she was given amazing treatment. From the receptionist the 2 nurse's, doctor and the wonderful radiographer. Her arm showed a fracture, she was treated with care and everything was explained to her so well. Thank you xx

I went to the Haematology Day Unit for a bone marrow test on the morning of Thursday 3rd August 2023 at 9.45 am. I was certainly not looking forward to this procedure(!), but the friendliness, care and attention shown by everyone was just excellent, and the lady on the reception desk kept me informed and up-dated the whole time I was there. My thanks to the two nurses (Bradley & Joanne) for all their kindness, care and professionalism - definitely proves good nursing staff are born, not made! I had a chance to observe the Unit while I was there, and all staff I saw were first-class, with endless patience. How lucky are we to have these people? Thanks, everyone, and I'd be grateful if this could be passed on to the Unit staff.

I had a pre-assessment in the Cardiothoracic centre yesterday and can't praise the nurses and consultant highly enough. They were friendly, helpful and made what could have otherwise been a daunting experience as easy and relaxed as it could be in the circumstances. Anne Wilson

I would just like to say how much the team looked after me from start to finish . I had a referral in February by march beginning of April all my tests had been carried out a bowel cancer was detected ( which I'm still trying to believe) the colecteral staff were brilliant i was allowed 2 pre op assessments even suggesting one of my sons could join us by video link. I couldn't have been made any more important. Also the nurses on laindon east and west ward worked tirelessly , i feel most privilleged to have been treated so brilliantlyx

My elderly other has been waiting nearly 3 years for urgent heart surgery ( mitral valve regurgitation). Despite getting the go ahead 6 months ago it still hasn't happened. I fear time has now run out as she is weaker day by day.

I've had to use a 24 hours heart monitor, the lady fitted it yesterday and I went back today to return it,both appointments were 2pm,I did get a text today asking for a response from me but on trying to send it they said I would be charged,so I think it may have been a scam as I have memory problems, thank you to the nurse who helped me and the receptionist who took me to where I had to be,only problems on both days was the oil protest on the qe 2 bridge,I wish they would target the refinerys not the public.

After three months of intense pain and 7 years of trying to resolve the issue, I finally get an unltrasound scan! That was the highlight. NO response after TEN days - I'm supposed to be on a '2ww' - two week pathway; it took them two weeks to send the bloody letters! Then another two weeks to organise the scan. Now i am waiting again...no one gives a sh*t and clearly these doctors have no training in customer service. I have tried to email my GP and the hospital - they both deny trying to contact me. A large part of the issue is the 'private number' rubbish that all these NHS outlets use; no way to know who called, or call them back. Of course someone who did call let it go to answer machine, but left NO message; how helpful! You've wasted my time and money, but with NO infomation update. You did stiff me for £3 parking at the hospital - well done. Perhaps you could put that money towards customer service training for your doctors..
