Overall the worst experience I’ve ever had, and I was previously renting with the “worst estate agents known to students” - quoted from the accom team @ Solent university. Overall the experience in our house was rubbish. The landlady had her own maintenance team, alongside the estate agents, which made reporting issues extremely clear. As soon as we moved into the property, there was issues with the toilet (flush didn’t produce enough water and drains would block up, causing foul smell), fridge, messy garden, poor standard of cleaning (one bedroom has curtains which were literally caked in incense) & rats. Reported all these issues which took off to a slow start. Constantly throughout the year we had 2 useless maintenance men round. To be honest, the landlady would’ve saved employing professionals who would’ve taken 1/5 amount of days the maintenance men took. Genuinely would come and twiddle their screwdrivers trying to unblock the toilet. They would leave and we’d question what they had done. Took them months to sort our toilet issue, attempting to unblock the drains even though it was clearly blocking as the toilet produced like 2 ML of water!! Tried telling us it was an “eco flush”. Didn’t have fire blankets, adequate CO2 or smoke detectors, extractor fan was bare and had wires sticking out. The house itself was in a poor state. We kept it so tidy and spotless throughout the whole tenancy. Molly Mae East would report issues and miss out key info. When we came to moving out and requesting our deposit back, we had not heard anything for about 2 weeks. I had contacted and spoken to Hayley Gooding, who at first seemed extremely nice. On my third call, I had gotten slightly frustrated from the lack of communication and clarity - to which I was met with the most awful, rude attitude and approach to dealing with a customer who wasn’t satisfied. I was actually gob smacked by the way she spoke to me. I was not rude at all, however spoke over her once and that was it. From that point all, all communication was extremely hostile and rude. She treated me like I was an imbecile, and had no knowledge of our rights in this situation. Eventually sent us a deposit deduction email, yet took 3 days later to receive our check in / check out. A lot of things on the deductions were clearly unfair and present on check in, which Hayley didn’t care about. She claimed it was the landlady’s choice and if we had a problem to go through the TDS. I found that funny, considering TDS tell you to try and come to an agreement with the landlord and agents etc, but there was no budging. It got to the point where I actually emailed Hayley saying to cease communication between ourselves, as I was arguing back and fourth with a literal school kid. Found out a couple of weeks into the deposit dispute that we were due our undisputed amount back, from that point of me mentioning to Hayley, she was polite and sorted the issue. I think this was due to the fact they hadn’t informed us of this practice - which TDS also made aware to me that they should’ve already sent the undisputed amount back prior. Again, I would avoid beals like the plague. From reading other reviews, and also seeing my boyfriend experience the same thing in live time as me - I would never ever ever go with beals even if it was the last estate agents in the world, I would rather sleep under the millbrook flyover as that would probably have less maintenance issues. They attempted to charge us for £500 worth of redec, and £350 of cleaning!!! After nearly 6 months of TDS deliberations, we were awarded more than half of the disputed amount. Very happy with this fair adjudication. Also found it amusing to read that the adjudicator thought their claims were a bit out there. My partner had the same thing with deposits Too and was awarded a majority back. Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid

This is directed toward the portsmouth's north end brunch! The worst and the most scumbag people I had ever dealt with..... This is my months of honest experience and pure frustration dealing with beals. There are just too much to voice out here so I'll only give a few key examples only. Me and my partner we're looking toforward to our new life relocating to portsmouth due to my new job and we approached beals north end for helping us with looking for a new place to rent. This disrespecful person jasmin warwick is the so called agent we're assigned to deal with. This unprofessional lowlife of a person literally lack soo much communication skill that soo many things were miscommunicated from the start... 1. We were under the impression that the unit will be partly furnished. We were informed that the minimal amount of furniture will be left behind for us to use like just a sofa in the living room only. We have our own furniture to move in with but on the day we collect the key for checking. The place is pack full with furniture, including beds in bedroom and a dining table in livingroom just to name a few. This forced us to for-go our own furniture.... We called jasmin about this and she does not even sound like she cares at all on the phone. Just kept saying the owner does not want to take away the furniture, its our problem now and we have to deal with it.... 2. On the initial call, both party agreed that the owner does not mind with pets. But when comes to closing the deal, we got thrown with a curve ball saying the owner want a raise because we have a pet... This is utterly the most disgusting attitude towards animals and the worst level of communication... Because of this, we're are forced to pay more just because we have pets. This idiot jasmin also kept pressuring us to decide if not they will go with another person who is willing to go with the price.... You dare to call this fairness and professional!!??... The worst part is, we didnt end up bring our pet with us in the end due to the chaotic BS and drama we have had to deal with these scumbags. Causing soo much metal stress and depression to my partner because our pet cannot come with us.... 3. Issues with the house was initially reported early on during the day we moved in. We live there for roughly a year+. NONE of the reported issues ever got address or fixed.... To the point it is soo ridiculous that on the week we plan to move out, only then the handyman decided to come by just to only access the things that require fixing.... How much lower can these stupid useless people want to go down to the bottom of the barrel regarding their communication and professionalism...?? 4. Both the home owner and the beals agency are completely heartless and useless.. There are issues with the toilet, issues with the boiler, issues with the toilet extractor fan and issues with the internet. All reported early on. The home owner themself does not care and refuses to fix the issue. Then the agents themselves including this worthless jasmin person did not bother to help at all......!!! At the end of the day, when we moved out, we did sent an email to the main beals contact email notifying them we are retuning the key on a set date. But some how, this idiot jasmin amazingly able to missed the email again. Saying that she was not inform regarding us returning the keys. Thats the final draw, we are absolutely done with dealing with these useless and brainless people. We are soo exhausted from trying to even communicate on a basic level with these agents, we deicided to direct all emails to official beals contact email to get responses on our issue while living in portsmouth. All these agent's email are completely unrealiable, unprofessional and disrespecful towards us. Not giving a single care to even help..... I honestly dont know if this is just a problem with portsmouth north end brunch issues or if this is an issue for the wider beals company but beals management team, if you are sincerely listening and if you do have a genuine human heart. Please, clean up your act, this is no way to treat customers like that!!! How do you feel if this whole treatment is directed to you personally or your family members? Grow some brain cells and try your hardest to think for a second there, if you can.... All the email and recorded conversation archived as proof of evidence if needed. And as for jasmin warwick, lucy hayward and that one old guy that work with them, SHAME on you all for your disgusting treatment towards us!! SHAME on all of you!!! How about try growing a heart and be kinder and fairer towards people for a change. Try that for once in your life if you're even capable of that!... Beals single handedly ruin our impression towards portsmouth while living there. We deeply regret moving to portsmouth and would highly caution everyone when deciding to go with beals agency or moving to portsmouth. A really horrible place to live!!

Beals stole our £2.5k deposit despite leaving the house exactly how it was when we moved in. Contacted Molly Mae who put me through to Hayley Gooding and Kirsty Millis. They both ignored my emails over and over again, obviously hoping I would get bored and eventually give up. They are still yet to reply and refusing to engage at all in any talk of the stolen deposit. While we were living in the house (that was full of black mould just to add), they would often email saying we hadn’t paid rent even though all of us had. They obviously thought they could squeeze more out of us, hoping we weren’t paying close attention. DO NOT rent from this company, they will steal whatever they can if you let them.

I have changed my mind about Amber from Fareham branch and the service provided by the Fareham branch. I was wrong because Amber’s attitude changed, she started ignoring and avoiding my phone calls when there were issues to discuss and sort out, instead of calling me back she chose to send messages explaining that she was busy all day with various reasons. Amber and the senior associate MF started to send me patronising, criticising, blaming and pressurising e-mails which I certainly did not appreciate. The cost and the nature of the services offered were never explained properly. Whilst at the beginning they were very keen to be helpful, they changed their tune and started being very difficult and unhelpful. Money orientated, unprofessional and incompetent.

Unprofessional, Incompetent, Deceitful. Beales are the worst letting agent I have ever dealt with. They are very slow to respond to problems, often months. They (eventually) send the same unskilled handymen to “resolve” every issue and it always results in many more visits than is necessary and a substandard botch-job. To achieve this level of “service” you have to chase them many, many times.They have been caught out lying to me on numerous occasions. At the end of tenancy they tried to overcharge me. Luckily they were not competent enough to pull it off. Do not deal with this company. It doesn’t matter if you like the house, it will not be worth the hassle you will go through.

Arranged for Charges Crayden of Crayden Limited to conduct Electrical Inspection Condition Report. Charles failed to attend but sent a cocky, arrogant person in his place. Ride and disrespectful. Mask hanging from one ear, no gloves, climbed on my furniture to reach ceiling lights as he didn't bring his own steps and he damaged one of my guitars being repair. Truth to complain. Beal's asked me for photographic proof of the damage, which I provided. Then they said that Charles Crayden won't accept responsibility, so there's nothing they can do. I'm on my own. Disgusting and rude communications from Beal's. I'm treated like managers at head office whom can't actually manage. You send them an email clearly addressed to someone but they assume that one of their colleagues will respond for them. I'm seriously and that I have to give them one star! I think it's just a matter of time til Beal's and Crayden Limited are featured as Rogue Traders on BBC Watchdog! Watch this space!

Arranged someone to conduct Electrical Inspection Condition Report (Charles Crayden of Crayden Limited). He failed to attend but sent someone in his place who wouldn't give his name. Rude and arrogant man that refused to wear face mask or gloves in my home, despite the rules. He climbed on my furniture to reach ceiling lights as he did not have any steps with him. He also damaged one of my guitars beyond repair. I submitted a claim against him to Beal's Head Office. Beal's asked me to provide proof in the form of photographic evidence, which I did. Then they said Charges Crayden is refusing to accept responsible, so there's nothing they can do. I'm on my own. I'm out of pocket and I've had to throw my guitar away. Beal's do not care and they treat me like I'm the guilty one, not the victim. Disgraceful! I feel that it's just a matter of time before Beal's and Crayden are featured as Rogue Traders on BBC Watchdog. Watch this space!

I think its disgusting as the women thinks its ok to parade around the shop with a vape in her mouth didnt think u can vape in the building everytime I go past I see her and being a estate agent myself for another company find this very unprofessional

Terrible, worked for them for a very short time, they would laugh and make insulting remarks about client as soon as they walked out the door. Only interested in getting your money. Most of the good reviews are written by their own staff.

Hideous property management. Lost most of the property keys twice then try to lie to cover their backs. Wouldn’t cover the cost I had to cover for new keys. Totally incompetent. Didn’t manage the property properly. House damaged and filthy after 1 tenant in 1 year. Do not use!!!

Patronising arrogant advisor in Bitterne branch. Had a phone call took limited information. Didn’t listen to what I wanted just kept pushing fees! Cocky boy in a suit! Should of gone to Emma in Connells as suggested by friend!

AVOID Not only took ridiculous amount of money, but couldn't be asked to do anything around the building, even after several complaints. We needed front door fixing, shower fixing, leaking sink fixing etc. Many phone calls and visits in the branch only resulted in redirecting us and ignoring the problems. Local branch in Southsea as well as the head office are absolutely ridiculous. Obviously making problems with the deposit release, even though the flat was left in a perfect condition. Simply thieves, really. They don't even deserve one star.

Ashley and Jon were easily contactable and kept us up to speed on developments. We live 280 miles away and so were unable to be available locally. Beals handled all aspects for us very efficiently including the legal side, using Lawwcomm solicitors.

We had personalised attention mainly from Dominic but also Olivia on occasions and they always replied to queries very quickly. They were informative about potential tenants and kept us very well updated on progress. We felt they really tried to do their best to find the right tenants as quickly as they could.
