“The folks at Blue Ridge Log Cabins were excellent to work with.
Donald Owens started us out with professionalism, respect & knowledge of product & procedures. The rest of the team jumped in just the right amount of help along the process.
We couldn't be happier with the product or service.”
“Blue ridge only care about there self and the inmates they hire and the illegal immigrants don't buy from them they half building your house and take slot of short cuts if I was buying a cabin I would buy from some where else”
“Update. I still have not received any satisfaction from Blue Ridge Log cabins. I did finally get to talk with a human and her name is Kelly. When I first talked with her, she told me the vice president told her that structural damage is not covered because it would probably. On their website, it does not state anything about Wood not being covered as they build only log cabins modular homes. The warranty states structural damage is covered for a minimum 10 years. I am still waiting to hear what they have to say. Today I had a private contractor, come and look at the problem with the Ridingwood on my soffits. He stated the soffits were not installed properly as they were not sealed to keep water from getting between the shingles and the soffit wood. He also found more rotting wood and other soffits and it would cost around $900 to repair. This company used to have a great Customer Service 10 years ago but not now and they don’t back up their product as they used to.”
“On Monday I called about making an appointment for warranty work to be done on my cabin. The operator past me on to a VP but I had to leave a message. By the next day I called again since I did not hear back. I had to leave another message with someone else and I did not hear back from that person either. On the third day I called back and the operator sent me to Nicole who I finally was able to talk to a person. She said she would look into it and get back to me, but so far I have not heard back from her. There customer service use to be very good years ago when I bought my cabin from them. Now it sucks. On there website it says they give a minimum 10 years warranty on structural problems. That is what I am trying to get them to fix.”
“I don't recommend doing business with Blue Ridge Log Cabins or with their Construction side, which act as general contractor. The leadership team for this company could not lead their way out of a wet sack. They deliver an incomplete project and have no idea how it is to be completed. In fact meet them with your loud voice, inform the state consumer affairs of all their inept planning and they will then send a work crew. Don't count on them doing the right thing they won't.
Do yourself a favor and find a builder to build you a cabin, they won have you sitting in the weather like BRLC will, chances are they won't hang up the phone after screaming at you. And you will save money. We walked away from Warranty repairs over disagreement over them owing us credit or us owing on over run--their Construction side can't budget, have no project management skill, and said over and over "is that in the contract".
In 30 years of overseeing projects, professionally and personally, Blue Ridge Log Cabins is the only company I have regret with and wish I had never walked into their building.
It is not the product, it is a good quality product, and the trim crew that did most of the finish work was awesome. The leadership is lost and work within their own sense of reality and the construction side, well they don't know the truth and have no idea how to do general contract management, and use a sub-par grading vendor.”
“At this point I am very happy with my cabin. There are some things that need to be understood when starting the process. The full balance of the cabin is due once placed on the foundation. This does not mean the cabin is complete, nor does it mean all the materials are delivered to complete the cabin. BRLC are not incentivized to finish the job as they have already been paid. They will finish it when it is convenient and cost effective for them to do so. Our cabin was placed on the foundations in April and completed in October. That being said, the time frame (providing you have a good GC at the site) still leaves traditional building in the dust. Our sales person, Donald Brown was awesome. He understood what we needed and worked with us painstakingly above and beyond, even coming out to the cabin site to do a preliminary walk through with our GC Travis Chapman. I mention these two individuals by name as they were exemplary. The quality of workmanship was very good and I did pay very close attention to each stage of on site construction. Walking through the BRLC fabrication facility I was surprised to see the use of traveler documents, QC hold points and inspection punchlists. These are used in the nuclear industry for Quality Assurance. They work well for BRLC and help give a quality product. To summarize, happy with the customer service during design, happy with the product, not impressed at all with the after placing finish work (quality was good, but it took way to long). Knowing these things now, I would still purchase a home from BRLC without hesitstion.”
“Dropped cabin on basement, collected their money and haven’t been back but twice! Trim crew hasn’t finished exterior, causing our floors in master and kitchen to start cupping and need to be completely replaced!! Mold is also in kitchen cabinets and walls now. It’s been a nightmare for us and we feel like fools. How does this business continue to be allowed to operate and who can sleep at night working for them? Filed BBB complaint, but still no resolution.”
“You’re saving plumbers no time setting toilets can’t test house for leaks with them set. Cheap lowes crimp rings crimped to tight cracking fittings. Garbage!”
“I have seen a few reviews on the BRLC website referencing how friendly and helpful the staff is when visiting the showroom. This may in fact be true; however, after you have made a purchase, it is all downhill from there. We just passed the one-year mark a few weeks ago from when our house was set on the basement foundation. It is still not finished, and much of the completed work is so poorly done that it will take years for me to correct it all. I will only point out the most obvious things to try and keep this review as short as possible. The most glaring is the terrible job that was done on our wrap around deck. We paid a huge price to upgrade to Trex decking and to have it wraparound on 3 sides of the house. It is in no way done to manufacturing standards and is completely unsafe. The quality of carpentry skills used are not adequate for an outbuilding or storage shed. There are dozens of trip hazards, lack of support, and the handrail is not constructed to building code. The vast majority of the deck will have to be removed and redone. I have made countless attempts to have BRLC fix or replace items with no response from them. When the missing kitchen cabinets, toe kick, and correct windows finally arrived 8 months after the house was set, they were left on the porch for me to have to install myself. If you have questions, feel free to email me at csmretired04@yahoo.com

“My son and I unfortunately got involved with this company and had them build our cabin. It has been nothing but headaches and lies from the very beginning. They want their money in full the day they bring out the unfinished cabin. Once they have your money it's goodbye.. see you soon. They have no customer service.. never return phone calls and we had to hire a lawyer to finally get the cabin complete. It has been a nightmare and we only wish we would have read some of these reviews before we did business with Blue Ridge. Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a cabin builder.”
“Our cabin was set 8/7/20 told we would be in in 3 months. We are now at 11 weeks no doors, no windows, no interior doors, no cabinets, no vanities, no countertops, no sinks, no appliances., etc etc. The customer service stops when they are paid. They have lied over and over about when these items will arrive. BUYER BEWARE. Do not give them any money until you have your complete house......”
“We moved into our cabin several years ago and have been very pleased with the quality of the construction. We built in a luxury mountain development and honestly believe our cabin is one of the best built on the mountain! Donald Owens was our consultant at Blue Ridge and he went above and beyond to ensure that our experience with Blue Ridge has been exemplary!”
“Blue Ridge Log Cabins
CAUTION to anyone considering doing business with them, The sales staff is wonderful BUT once you’re house is placed be absolutely certain you have Everything you were promised before you pay them a dime! They will requesting their final payment before that crane leaves your property but more than likely you will have an incomplete product. Their claims of quality control at their plant and their claims that they deliver a complete product is 100% false! My cabin was dropped in September and I’m still fighting with them to finish what they started. Their finishing crew And their upper management do not respond to calls or emails and once they have your money you stop being a customer in their eyes. Worst customer service I have ever experienced !! Praying 🙏 it will be worth it in the end but doubtful!”
“The house as a whole is great the only drawback is a separation of the floor that starts at the front door and continues all th way through the house to the back doors the worst thing about the issue is that the manufacturers representative that were on site during the assembly/finishing work saw the problem and attempted to resolve it by putting caulking and or wood putty into the separation in an attempt to glue it together now my main concern is how far will this thing go will my dog eventually be able to escape through it this house is brand new I reached out to don whom claimed to be a supervisor of something he was completely uninterested in my issue don’t even consider purchasing the pisgah series until the engineers figure out the problem of course the customer service also needs to be reevaluated”
