The initial process with the ordering and communication was very slow with numerous delays! Once installation was scheduled, the engineer who carried out the work completed the work professionally without any disruption.

It does the job it should well. Have you fallen prey to a hyping up of a perfectly normal product? What happens next? Star-ratings for bananas?

I felt like I wasn’t really kept up to date with my application, and that I had to chase things up to get something booked in. Overall though, pleased with the product, installation lead time was actually much shorter than expected.

My first dealings were most disappointing as when I was chasing up my installation no calls were ever returned. I appreciate that as a cable run of nearly 50m was involved that it was essential for a survey. However, It took three and a half weeks between my order of my i3 and an inquiry to Chargemaster to when the electrician came and 6 weeks before my Chargemaster being fitted.

I was disappointed by the preliminary survey which was conducted by email only and messages were batted back and forth with digital images attached. There were requests for an isolation switch to be installed then this was later rescinded; a request for the distance between the charging point and the electricity meter, though the charging point was to be connected to the electricity supply in the garage. Apparently the image of my garage consumer unit necessitated a new replacement to be installed but my electrical engineer said it was fine but the electrical wiring was not suitable for a 32 amp supply. This required a new cable to be laid, buried and installed on the day before the charging unit was to be installed. All of the above could have occurred in a calmer more timely fashion if only a site survey by one of your electrical engineers was conducted in advance of the Charging Point installation. I cannot find fault with the installation of the charging point itself; the engineer was friendly, efficient and speedy.

They sent the wrong charging point to the installer. They frequently mentioned the wrong date in correspondence.

Sales process and contact was poor, installation was excellent on the day, unit and web functionality is average at best (simple app would improve user experience)

The product once installed does what it says on the tin, but if your installation is complicated, as mine was, then Chargemaster will not do it. I had to resort in having a local electrician install the cable from the meter box to the required charger location. Chargemaster then topped and tailed it. The Chargemaster engineer that did the initial survey and final installation was very pleasant and efficient. I believe that the standard price for an installation includes 25 meters of cable (approx £100). As it was necessary for me to install my own cable, (I required 50 meters), then I had to supply it myself. Although I supplied and paid for my own cable I still had to pay the standard installation cost. No allowance was given for non supplied cable.

No follow up. Took a long time to install. Don't like installation with charging plus sticking out of the front should be in the side like Tesla as obtrusive in garage. Still waiting for a customer commercial installation. Key keeps falling out should be keypad

Pleased with charger. Process took forever though. Still unsure about if and when I get any rebate back from govt.

This may be a generous rating. Overall, installation took over 10 weeks from first contact until the unit was installed at home (from 21st Jan until 3rd Apr) - so we had a car manufactured in France, delivered to the dealer and driven here over 3 weeks before the installation of a charger. The emails received were of a standard template, asking for the same range of information each time, irrespective of whether it had already been sent or not. The Annex D document had to be completed twice since the first one expired before the installation took place. Little notice appeared to be taken of the emails I sent - e.g. I requested a tethered rather than socketed unit, by email and then by phone and was told that this would be changed on the instructions. On the day of the installation the instructions were still for the wrong unit and several phone calls were necessary before the installation could proceed. I did not get much confidence from those I spoke to at the Luton office. By contrast, the person who did the survey and a different person who did the installation were brilliant.

Chagemaster were very helpful when I first contacted them however they became fairly offhand and it took four months after I had paid for the equipment required to have it delivered to me. They blamed the fact that they had to deal with a subcontractor, however that is not the only problem because I kept in touch with the subcontractor and often they too were waiting on Chargemaster.

The chargepoint is really good and the engineer who installed it was great. The engineer who did the on site survey that I had to have was also really helpful. However, the telephone team could have been better - the original contact left the company and no-one took over my order. Eventually I had to resubmit my OLEV form because the time limit on it had expired (6weeks). I had to ring several times to get the process going again. Eventually Jamie took over and it went quite smoothly from then on. The process is not as straightforward as it appears from your video. I had to have extra electric work done in order to have my chargepoint fitted. I think you should do site surveys as standard then people would know right from the beginning what they would need to do to have the chargepoint fitted. Now it’s in and working it’s super.

Initial sign-up was quick. Sales staff said installations were typically taking place within 3 weeks. However, provisional date provided for installation (at point of sign up in mid-January) was mid-March! Installation finally completed at end-February. Electrician was really good and the installation was very neat.
