"The board and the pieces work amazingly. You barely touch a piece and the board will light up. The pieces are made with high quality. You can play without an app but if you want to take advantage of the full ai and assistance you'll need the app. The app is the only downfall of everything. Still needs a lot of work and chess.com integration, which they are working on. With more people buying the board, I have no doubt that they will fix the app and make it more user friendly. "
