Read the other reviews but still decided to give a local company the benefit of the doubt. Left a buffer for them to be a few minutes late but arrived 10 minutes late which meant I got my train with seconds to spare. At the time they were meant to be at my house the car still wasn't trackable from the app which meant they hadn't left. Do not use this service if you have an appointment to keep

UPDATE Following my last update I was contacted by one of their managers who was actually rather competent and apologetic but only offering a discount on my NEXT booking. While this offer is appreciated it would be somewhat like rebooking an airline where my previous flight with them had crashed on take off and I had miraculously survived.. As other reviews have mentioned their reputation in the local area with both customers and independent drivers is now notorious. They regularly use drivers miles away (typically Epsom which is their head office) so this explains why in rush hour periods they are struggling. Not sure why they thought this business model would work but I would suggest to the owner that this is badly thought out and needs a rethink. You have lost your Waverley School Run Licence - what next? Running businesses like this is tough I appreciate but you have to realise being ON TIME, EVERY TIME is fundamental to repeat custom. Oh, as well as employing office staff who aren't repeatably rude to customers or drivers who treat airport runs like a Formula One racing event if the other reports here are genuine.

Absolutely useless service. Couldn’t organise the proverbial in a brewery. You try and support local businesses but end up using Uber because of the sheer incompetence of them. Avoid unless really there isn’t an alternative.

AVOID. I booked a car one day in advance. On the day, it didn't show up. So I phoned 5 min after it was supposed to pick me up only to then learn it would take another 18 min. That meant I missed my train and had pay extra for a later one.

Update. Promised a call TWICE from management to explain what happened. Totally ignored. Dear Maxwell, Rocky Maxwell (do you have multiple personality disorder?, A Talukdar (what an imagination you have), Steve, Sam and the other drivers of this company, I hope you enjoy working for them. How long for I wonder? Dear Managers / Directors. You are totally incompetent and clearly don't care about the implications of your shoddy, inept service on your customers. You don't deserve to run a business that impacts people's day to day lives so much. Expect to hear from Wokingham Council Licencing department VERY soon. You have upset the wrong marine big time.

Well where do I start? Firstly, if you are living in the Godalming area you should be aware that Clocktower bought Speedwell Taxis which had a, ahem, reputation that spoke for itself. Secondly, take a look at the profile of reviews only 1’s and 5’s? Read the 5’s and you mostly get short ones like “Great Service!”, “Good Company, great Drivers”. Oh and curiously repeat 5 star reviews from the same “alleged” genuine reviewer or sometimes with “Mr” added. MMMmmm curious. Then read the 1’s which in the most part are obviously written by a genuine disgruntled customer with details and noticeable proper grammar. MMMMMMmmmmm even more curious! As for me well my experience beggars belief. When I first started using them the service was OK for the first 3 or 4 bookings. Then last month I needed to get to London for an interview and needed transport to my nearest station. When booking the call I deliberately added 15 minutes to my normal buffer due to the importance. Good job I did as the driver was 15 minutes late, no call, no apology, I “Just” got the train. The driver also seemed to be of the opinion that because he had come from 15 miles away he had the “right” to be late. Unbelievable. This morning my usual local driver was unavailable so I reluctantly booked clocktower one more time. This time I added 25 minutes buffer as it was another interview and stressed to the office the importance of being on time. I would rather have a coffee on the platform and be on time than be late. I rang the office 45 minutes before the booking time and was assured the driver would be on time. 5 Minutes, yes 5 minutes before the booking time I got a call informing me the driver would now be with me 20 minutes later than the booking time, 5 minutes before my train departure. I had no option to walk as fast as I could to the station and thanks to a very kind passing driver drove me the final ¼ mile and I got my train. Stressed, sweaty and angry, great state to be in before an interview. Surely they would have known at least half an hour beforehand they would be late, I asked another local driver on the return home and he confirmed this. I have also experienced the same behaviours mentioned in other reviews, rude inept staff and drivers, cut off mid sentence etc etc. This company should be on Rogue Traders. Don’t just DON’T go anywhere near these cowboys not even with someone else’s bargepole.

Picked up 25minutes late. The driver had not spoken one word from us getting into the car to getting out. would not use ever again!

Do not use this company. Drivers rude, put the phone down on you, office staff untrained and have no idea what they are doing. They need to realise that they are working with customers who have places to be such as work or airports on time without any delays or dramas. Just overall useless, stick with Uber

Booked an airport transfer from Gatwick. The driver seemed off and once we were on the motorway our driver nearly crashed into another driver at speed when changing lanes. He was not indicating and didn’t notice the other driver coming into the same lane until my friend shouted. He then proceeded to blame the other driver and the whole way back was driving sporadically, unsafe lane changes, speeding and nearly hitting the curb on several occasions. I then rang up to complain and I was hung up on. My friend then went to office and finally was given a £15 refund considering the journey was £40 that really doesn’t make up for much. Will never use this cab company again as we were also told the driver that we complained about has been suspended before. Very unsafe taxi company.

Appallingly pathetic and rude drivers I have used this taxi company for many years however on last three occasions I chose to ignore the poor and rather rude drivers but today’s experience with Abdul badge 37138 crossed any civility. Firstly he was late with no apologies. He then chose to use A3 instead of M25 as it’s shorter but generally longer for Heathrow. He had no navigation and when we were stuck for over 15 minutes he said he doesn’t bother with checking traffic and starting abusing and the threatening to leave me on the roadside if I called office. He continued to speak in his language and making signs while I am still ignoring his road rage and starting driving recklessly. Had he used navigation he would have known of roadworks and flower show at Hampton court and delays at Hillingdon. I had a flight to catch so I put on my headphone and stayed in control of my response. Abdul has been abusive, arrogant, reckless and absolutely unprofessional driver I have come across in my life and shouldn’t be allowed behind the wheels. This makes my last booking ever with Clock tower cars!

I had a bad experience with Clocktowers a few months back and put it down to a one off. I ordered a car for saturday 11.40 as we had to be at an appoitment for 12 in dorking. The car rang me at 11.40 to ask for directions. We were thefore late but the worst part was how rude the dirver was about it making it my fault as he didnt know where the house was as it didnt have a number - we were stood outside and the post code entered onto the app was correct. Livid. Have deleted the app and wont use them again. Offered this feedback by email with no response. Shame as the app is brilliant.

Got a quote on the app from Epsom downs to Epsom derby square. 3.5 miles £14.40 for a saloon car. Rip off. Viceroy cars same information £8.50.

Dont use clocktower . Let down very badly booked in advance to take us to great ormond street hospital with a young baby who had undergone sight surgery and needed to be checked for infections ,left stood in the rain , no call from them , called them said they would call back and did’nt, this wasnt a jolly we were on it was a huge big deal for a 3 month old baby, appalling no stars from me even thougth one is showing
