Warning these guys are not egulated by the FCA! Any misconduct you wll not be able to report them. They illegaly set up a direct account to access my account without me agreemin their terms . when I reported it They saiD you can go to the FCA, but they will not have our approval to investgate. Shocking !

Staff are rude. Professionalism is not there. If you ask specifics you get automated emails, even if you have sent them money and you would like them to confirm. There are some staff that have been ok in the past but those are few and usually leave. Concerned about the top management.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!! Worst scamming company ever dealt with. Do not reply to any correspondence and very rude. Complained 4 separate occasions. Took wrong amounts on direct debit and took 4 months to correct. Finance agreement now paid off and they they have taken incorrect last amount and taken extra month. I'm not wasting any more time on these scum bags but I will be getting my money back. Do not know how they are still trading and I will check in future who the financing is with as I will be avoiding if it is them. Honestly don't even consider it even if incredible deal. You will regret it.

This company are the biggest crooks out there. I had a business leasing agreement set up not by me but by business enterprise company. The business collapsed and they would not come to an agreement insisted on going to court. Beware the have deep pockets and equally crooked solicitors. After the business closes you cannot increase the debt. Close brothers have done just that and increased my debt several 100%. How are they able to operate and are not governed by any legal restrictions.

Should be ashamed, taking the money of the wrong bank account, then applying a fee which is almost as big as the actual payment, under the trading standards and consumer rights this is unfair! Failing to notify the consumer of missed payment, and applying the charge is not right! Telephone customer service is shocking, rude "assistant" named Abrsede, that could barely speak English, found almost impossible to understand what he was saying. Will encourage all my family and friends to leave this provider including myself and go elsewhere for good!

BEWARE NOTHING BUT PARASITES, 14-DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD THEY WANTED £60 FOR 4 HOURS CAR INSURANCE,BECAUSE I GOT IT CHEAPER (WITH CLOSE BROTHERS 🤔) , THEN A BILL FOR£83 BECAUSE I WANTED TO CANCEL MY CLASSIC CAR INSURANCE FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS THROUGH WINTER, WHICH THEY AGREED WOULD BE FINE WHEN I TOOK THE POLICY OUT , PLENTY OF HIDDEN COSTS, MAKE SURE YOU READ YOUR INCH THICK TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Would give 0 if I could. Don’t use this company they are ridiculous and try get as much money possible from people. They cancel direct debits without you noticing they then send letters saying you owe so much money with added fees you ring up to enquire as you have DD to be told they cancelled it admitted mistake so has to wait for paper work to make Payment plans 8 months later am still waiting for this paper work can never get through on the phone and today instead of sending paperwork they send court letters ! All done to the fault of them cancelling a direct debit but am sure if a customer did this it would be a breach of contract STAY AWAY FROM THEM

0 really. But no 0 in star review. Got confirmation singed all the Paper work and transferred the deposit then they decided they wanted to double the deposit and half the term already agreed then told me I had to wait 5 working days to receive my deposit back. SHAMBLES !!!

If I could give a 0 I WOULD. This month I defaulted on my insurance payment I rang them explained why this has happened apologises for any inconvenience & told them I would be paying a week later. Although I did say I could make payment of £100 there & then & pay the remaining £80 a week later ! No you can’t do that gotta be in full they said, ok no problem I said I will pay in full next week ! That was that. TWO DAYS later I get a letter to say there’s been a fee added on & I now owe £230 !!!! Dickheads I couldn’t afford the insurance HOW is adding a fee gonna help me in anyway !!!!! I had every intention of paying my insurance NOW I have every intention of not paying it !!! Send the debt to the bailiffs I’ll happily pay £10 a month back 🤪

I have close brothers as a direct debit aggrement for my car insutance via a broker , this is the fifth year running, i and the broker has requested the 18th of every month for my money to be taken ,they always take it about a week early , i have a standing order to put funds in my account every month on the 16th , so there early attempt can default, 5 years running this has happened , so you will inccur a charge on there behalf , they never follow up the brokers instructions , iam sure they get away with this a lot , a lot of people just roll over, NEXT TIME IF THIS HAPPENS ,I WILL NAME AND SHAME IN A BIG WAY ,YOU CHANCERS

Honestly the biggest shambles of a company ever experienced !| Made a formal complaint regarding the car we had taken finance out on as it had broken down / engine was in smoking and multiple other things over four times in the first six weeks of owning the car. Michele Taylor from Close brothers "head of complaints" apparently !!!! Was honestly the most unhelpful person I have ever met, SEVEN MONTHS later I am still chasing her. She avoids phone calls, no response to emails, when you do get hold of her she makes ridiculous excuses non of which solve the fact that I am paying for a car I cannot use !! STILL we have no solution. I wouldn't touch this finance company with a barge pole !!!!!!! Still waiting for a call back eight months later. DIO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!

My case still on since 20th September 2022 The bike I bought brand new under the finance .finally they found out it’s a problem of point of sale after two months .even as they know and told me that they liable For give me fully refund ,but now still telling me the stories and and keep taking direct debit since then . Really bad company .i will go to ombudsmen as well ,also they conform ,they should not do what they doing to me right now . PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY . i will review every where I can

Will put a default on your file at the drop of a hat - avoid. I was in the process of changing my household insurance as the premium had been raised by an eye-watering amount - through no fault of my own. Anyway, I need to reinsure elsewhere so set up a new plan with a new insurer, at this point I had two accounts with Close Brothers. I need to cancel the old contract and set up a new one, which I did. The new direct debit was set up and the old one cancelled. I emailed Close Brothers to inform them of what was happening but they didn't reply. They were fully reimbursed for the old account and it was settled in full by the old insurance company. However, they still decided to place a default notice on my credit file as technically I had dropped one payment, as the old insurance compay's refund took time to come back to them. So even though I was clearly simply changing insurance companies, they seemed more interested in doing me down than helping me resolve the matter. All while my mortgage payments had doubled. Thanks guys! Called them to explain and I was told they would log the complaint and I'd get an email - I didnt. They don't give a damn. Hopefully this review will posted as fast as they put the default notice on my credit file. Will post this review everywhere I can. Unecessarily aggressive behaviour with absolute disregard for current climate. Planning to re-arrange my finances to cut our the need for all credit companies like this, I suggest we all try and do the same.

Absolutely disgusted with the service and the care. I had car finance with you guys, I had recently bought a new car (June) and the rest of the finance had been settled by the garage. Few weeks after this I got a call from Jim saying that I owed close motor money (£410.40) And I needed to pay for this. Naturally I was very confused and concerned. I spoke to my garage where I bought the new car from and just wanted clarity if they had paid it. They were correct. I was very concerned and was very anxious about this situation as this isn't a small amount of money. They told me I had to pay for it then and there or do a payment plan. Which just made worry so much. I explained to Jim I wasn't prepared to pay this and make a complaint so we it was raised. Today I get a call from Lynette from the complaints team explaining they got this wrong and I was misguided and I explained that really has really affected my mental health for the last few weeks. She explained that an automatic email came out and it shouldn't have - I explained and I said I still got a call this is unacceptable. She wasn't understanding to me whatsoever. She said I would get a £30 compensation - this is disgusting and insulting. I explained that this isn't the first time close brothers have had the issue before with me and they have got confused with direct debits and money and dates. She then explained that complaint was closed and we can't deal with that as the case is closed - that disgusted me more. Lynnette then asked to close the case I said no way - I explained this is not good enough id like to talk to someone higher. She said ok. I am so so disappointed in the company and the lack of customer service and care towards their customers. I have never experienced such poor quality - wouldn't recommend anyone to this company.

Finance side of things fine; it’s when things go wrong the complaint handling side of the business is an absolute joke. Long story short, I purchased a car on HP finance through a dealership; 4-5 weeks of using the car it breaks down, nearby garage confirms 7 or so different faults from gearbox to transmission to electrical issues and all sorts - contact dealer & close brothers - now a month later Im without a car, and no refund, and still on a finance agreement. All I’ve asked them for is updates with the progress of what’s happening, I’ve sent 8 emails and rang numerous times to just through to there answer phone; one guy Jim called me initially and was very nice, yet since that initial phone call nothing has happened; or atleast I’m not aware if anything’s happened. I ask only for updates so I can explain to my employer why I’m struggling to get to work which I’m being penalised for (I can’t get a new car as I still have a £7000 finance outstanding on this car!) Jim finally answers the phone Monday just gone, “Thursday we’ll have an update, I will call you Thursday” well as expected again end of play Thursday nope, no phone call, I’ve rang them 3 times, 2 emails - nothing. No confidence in this awful business I can’t wait for the refund and then I can leisurely explore my options further in regards to seeking comp as consumer rights explain a refund should be processed within a reasonable time frame, is a month a reasonable time frame? With only 1 phone call from yourselves telling me what I already know. No, honestly finance side of things fine; but this complaint process is a joke. If I just atleast had updates I wouldn’t be so pressed but without that I’m a clueless sitting duck whereas mechanics and third party businesses involved know more than I do. Reading this back I know an initial reader would assume this relies with the dealer who sold the car; I have complaints to make about them but the HP finance agreement is with close brothers and it’s there responsibility to sort this; atleast I don’t think they’re aware it’s there responsibility.

This company is total disgraceful the staff can’t speak word English and they gear them self up to rip costumers, there’s many companies out there with very good reputation and will help. Keep well away from this company.

I would give zero if possible. The lady I spoke to today forgot to put me on hold when seeking advice on my query that she tried fobbing me off with and did not like it when questioned! Heard her laughing and talking about me! When I said I could hear her she offered no apology but a cocky reply! Utterly disgusting! I was not rude or confrontational but merely asked further details when offered it might do! clearly might dos work!
