"My application was to put a 1\" hole in a brick fire pit to support a gas key. Purchased the dry 1\" core drill bit over the wet. I needed to drill through 5.5\" of two brick types. I was disappointed in the center drill in that it did not cut well and even came out of the holder. Regardless though, the core came out perfectly. Note that I am a DIY. "

Was told a 500 rpm sds max dry would work ok with the 1 1/2 diamond core bit. Cut so slow that it was useless. Rented a big Mikita avt. Bit worked much better but still much slower then a standard bit.
”

The pilot arbor Bit broke right at the threads on the second hole drilled. $40 down the toilet. The dry core bit worked great.
