“I've been using DIVI for a few years now on many projects. It proved to be functional and versatile, that is why I will still be using it in future projects. For news blogs, I do recommend Extra theme also made by ET. I also recommend users buying lifetime version (if available) because DIVI&EXTRA, combined with some other solutions give you capabilities to create amazing and fast websites.
Absolutely No.1 when it comes to WordPress themes, but just as many other things, nothing is bulletproof, so be careful when using third party plugins and updating to latest versions.
