I always go to Small Hands for gifts to our grandchildren. I made 2 purchases this year before Christmas using the free shipping with $75 dollar purchases. You charged me for shipping which I never approved. When I complained, I received a rather snotty response. I placed the orders and the calculations came up without the free shipping. It is not my fault if you ran out of inventory when the purchase was packed for shipment. There are always more books that can be added to the order because I never approved paying for shipping costs. I want a refund!

Dear Michael, I apologize if there was a misunderstanding about the Free Shipping Promotion. I see that you placed two separate orders on the same day from our website. The first order was $65.60 and had no backorders or unavailable items. Shipping was added to this order bringing the total to $79.55. We believe that you might have thought that this was your merchandise total and that is why the order was not increased to the $75.00 amount. The second order was over the $75.00 threshold and received Free Shipping. In good faith we are refunding the shipping charge on the first order. This has potential, but the frustration of getting the sticks to stay in place without just sliding out on their own means we hardly ever play.

I got scammed by the company. I was charged additional 80 dollars for international shipment. I told it was much more than I was willing to pay, unless it also included import charges. The company replied: It is both shipping and import. Turns out it was a lie. The company has charged me those money without paying for import charges. Now to get the package, I am charged to pay it again. The company is not interessted in taking responsibility for their lies.

Dear Rikke, I'm very sorry if there was some misunderstanding about the shipping charges on your order to Denmark. I've reviewed the communication and at no time did we say that we would pay your import fees. Our website clearly says: "Duties and Value Added Taxes are the customer's responsibility." We have no way to determine customs charges on your end. I'm very sorry but the additional fee you are being requested to pay does not come from our company. We charged you exactly as quoted. Dear Lisa, I just tracked your order. While our system says it was shipped out in a timely manner, the tracking information provided is not valid. I can only assume that that package was lost. Dear Kiera, We are so sorry that the last two items on your order have been delayed much longer than we anticipated. We expected the shipment of your items to come in in January as indicated at the time you placed your order. However, we are still awaiting shipment. We certainly understand how frustrating this can be and we are sorry. While we did send an email early on explaining the delay, we certainly could have done a better job of keeping you informed about the status. You are welcome to cancel the backorders if you wish. I have only received the chopsticks, and they broke immediately. Nothing else has come.

Dear Lindsay, We are so sorry that you had a bad experience. Unfortunately, when you ordered all of the items you wished to receive were on backorder except the Chopsticks. Usually the rest of your backorders are sent together in a second shipment. Unfortunatley, we still have not received the Kitchen Tools Apron that you ordered. While we have sent updates about the Apron, we should have sent the other two items to you when they came in. I apologize for this oversight. Also, we will be more than happy to replace or refund the Chopsticks that broke. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed and we are very sorry that we fell short. I had a terrible experience with ordering from this company. I tried so hard to find a Conga drum for my five year old for Christmas and really didn't want to order it from Amazon. I came across this company with Montessori toys and was so excited for him to open it up Christmas morning! I ordered it the end of November, finally got a shipping notice over two weeks later, December 16th, then it didn't arrive until December 26th, the day after Christmas. I was so disappointed and so was my son. I did understand this year was exceptionally hard with shipping, but the company needed to let me know it would not arrive on time before December 24th. The manager I spoke to could not have been more rude and really showed she didn't care about her customers, not even the tiniest bit sympathetic or never even apologized. I actually had to call twice to get to speak to her (she was supposed to call me back and never did) I thought it would not have been very hard to send me a shipping label to return the drum as we didn't need it anymore, but she would not. So instead I paid twice for the shipping. Unfortunately I'm a teacher and mother and I will not be able to buy any other toys from this company and will urge friends and family to not order as well.

I ordered 3 items in late November. All were immediately put on back order. One of them arrived just before Christmas. Another just disappeared off my order and the third keeps having an extension date to the back order. It’s now going to arrive in April. I will never order through Small Hand again.

Dear Linda, We are so sorry that you did not have a good experience. We apologize that only one of your backordered items arrived before Christmas. Unfortunately, because of the issues in the supply chain this year, several of our vendors did not receive their shipments and deliver on time (or at all). We certainly can understand how frustrated you are. We share that frustration. While you should have received notification about the delays, it still is unfortunate. First they could not make it in time for my grandsughter's birthday. Then they could not make it in time for Christmas. They tied up my money and I got nothing. Still waiting for the back ordered item since November. Are you sure these people are kosher?

We are so sorry that your present did not arrive in time for your granddaughter's birthday. There was no indication on the order that it needed to arrive by a certain date. Your order was received on Nov. 6 (a Saturday), was downloaded on Monday, and shipped out from our warehouse in California on Wednesday the 10th. Most orders ship within a week and transit time can take another week. We apologize for any misunderstanding. Also, at the time when you placed your order, two items were on backorder. Backorders are sent (at no additional charge) when they come in. Your backordered items came in on January 6th and they shipped on the 7th. Dear Anonymous, I am so sorry that you did not have a good experience. Please know that your satisfaction is always guaranteed. I see that you placed your order on Nov. 6 and six of the eight items you ordered shipped on Nov. 10. The two items that were not shipped should have showed on backorder at the time you placed the order. Sadly, those two items did not come in before the end of December. They were sent in early January. We did send out emails notifying customers about the delays. Unfortunately, sometimes those emails get caught in spam filters and are not received. I apologize if this was the case. As for payment, you paid by credit card and we do not charge your card for backordered items until they are shipped.
