“Bought this due to increasing gas prices. However, the gas smells were giving myself and my wife headaches. Our room is very big 9m by 6m. In fact you could smell it from upstairs. I called the next working day to Hamiltons. The Customer Services man said we cannot get a refund as Gas has been passed through the appliance. He said we have to pay £20 for it to be picked up for inspection. We cannot afford this. However, he said DPD we not available until the new year. I feel we have been flogged off. We can only smell gas once the appliance is being used. I would not recommend buying this product.”

Thank you for your feedback, it is very important to us. We can see that you phoned into our Customer Service Team on 23/12/22. We have listened to the call where our advisor explained that we would arrange a collection of the heater and it would be tested by a Registered Gas Safe Engineer. They informed you that if no fault was found with the heater then the £15.00 collection cost would be charged along with the £5.00 re-delivery charge to have the heater sent back out to you. They outlined that DPD was not taking any new collections on until the New Year as it was so close to Christmas and we were also closing on the day you made the phone call until 3rd January. A refund was not declined, it was explained that as gas had been passed through the appliance that it could not be returned and refunded under our 30-day return policy. As a fault was reported with the appliance testing would have to be carried out. All this information is on our website to ensure customers are aware of the procedure before placing an order. Our advisor advised you to send your details into our help desk and we could start the process when we re-opened after the holiday period. We have not yet received an email from yourself.

“Very happy with part supplied for my gas fire. Only disappointing thing was spoke to company direct and ordered part on 16th December and was promised it would be sent via dpd rather than Royal Mail because of their strikes. Unfortunately it was sent via Royal Mail so had no heating over the Christmas period. It was finally delivered on the 28th December.”
