“Competitive quote, hence they got the business. However, customer service very poor. I Was sent threatening e-mails saying if I didn't send in certain documents by a specified date my policy would be cancelled!! I always complied promptly, but never received any replies. I can only assume all was in order and my insurance has not been cancelled as implied....”

“Pricewise Carrot is a great insurance provider for young motorists. However, their customer service is horrendous!! We insured my son through Carrot and he had his telematics box fitted. The app was downloaded and all seemed well...then his average scores of 9.2 started to go down...even when the car was sat on the drive at home!! As well as duplicate journey readings and phantom journeys!! We've rang Carrot 4 times now and recorded the calls..every time we have been PROMISED a call back from the IT team. Guess what...NO CALLBACKS at all and his box is still giving false readings!! I will be ringing and recording my next call today! The results will be posted on here for you to see....”

“So far carrot has been a fantastic insurer, I love the app and how it allows you to monitor your black box, the cash rewards are also a great incentive. However the only minor issue I have found is that on some days mainly weekends whatever time I use my car my usage is really low there is no clear consistency on usage.”

“Carrot is the cheapest insurance I've found for new drivers like myself. The only thing I'd critisize is I get negative driving scores for the times I drive when I stated it in my policy , other than that thumbs up!”

“Much better than the previous telematics provider. The app is brilliant and so informative. Call centre staff are very friendly and helpful. We did have some issues with the proof of no claims not being attached to the account and receiving an email that we needed to submit it but that was just an admin error and Carrot staff sorted that out quickly. So far a great experience and we're very happy with Carrot!”

“After having trouble with my last telematics box insurance company I was not very confident with using one again but Carrot has been very good so far! App is very easy to use, carrot card is a great idea and whenever I have any questions I know I can call and everyone is happy to help. Would defiantly recommend Carrot Insurance!”

“Went with carrot insurance because it was cheaper than any other quote. I also felt being a new driver having a box monitoring my driving would prevent be from developing bad habits and to drive less aggressively, which has worked. However something to be aware of with black box insurance I have discovered is how it handles speed. I have found myself focusing too much on speed rather than just maintaining speed with traffic around me which would be safer allowing more focus on hazard perception. Have tried just maintaining speed a few times with traffic around me only to receive a negative score for speed which has caused the focus on speed. Also overestimate your mileage as there seems to be some discrepancy between how much mileage the box thinks you have covered vs the car odometer. Sometimes it thinks you've covered more and sometimes it thinks you've done less than the odometer reading. Another point I think I need to make is about commuting. When I was quoted for the policy I declared the car would also be used for commuting, therefore car would be used during morning and afternoon rush hours which increased the cost of the policy. However driving at these times still negatively impacts usage score, seems a bit unfair to punish me for using my car at times I have declared it will be used for when taking out the policy and paid more for. To summarize, Carrot is great if your young and looking for cheaper policy, however if you live in an area where it is common to drive slightly over speed limits or you want to use for daily commuting you may want to consider a normal policy.”
