Very poor customer service in relation to communications; on hold for ages both phone and on line chat. Also, got no reply to email sent

I have tried ringing carrot and emailing however I never got through on the phone. The reply to the email took a while too

Terrible lack in communication via email or socials and You are left on hold for hours when ringing.

Carrot insurance is the shittiest company I wouldn’t recommend it in a million years ..... they are quick enough to to send letters emails etc when they think you’ve done something wrong but try getting in touch with them and nobody answers the phone .... been trying to speak to someone for 8 days now and all you get is a recorded message of I’m sorry we’re talking to other carrot customers...... and once again it’s the same with live chat ..... fuming is an understatement 😤

Every time I have had to contact Carrot Insurance I have waited at least 30minutes to get through and one time up to 1hour to ask a simple question. When you do make it through to speak to someone the service you receive it polite however who wants to wait that long to speak with someone? I also had problems with my driver app which wasn’t recording journeys which mean I was constantly calling and waiting over 2weeks for that to be sorted. All in all, the technology and hold times are not good however service from staff is polite.

I went over my mileage and got in touch with Carrot - it’s very hard to get in touch via phone but you usually get an email response after a few days so I managed to get in touch with someone. Because of my quite good driving score, I’m only paying £500 for 6000 miles which is being split over my remaining months of policy. I’ve never had any issues with Carrot apart from the slow response time, so if you get in touch before your mileage goes over, you should be OK in time!

Have to leave the app running in the background of your phone ALL THE TIME. Drains battery. If you go on holiday you need to let them know because of the app not working- ridiculous. If your phone dies because the running app has drained your battery, or decide to put it on aeroplane mode to save battery, you could risk them cancelling your insurance policy because the app 'needs' the app on. I went with Carrot because they were £300 cheaper but now I really wish I'd have just spent the extra money to not deal with this hassle. They need to sort out the black box so it doesn't have to be connected to your phone. The customer service is good on Live Chat I just really don't like how the insurance policy works.

As a new driver getting insurance was easy enough with carrot insurance. Was simple, efficient and quick. There are changes which can be made digital. Example would be the better driver app with the constant loging in rather than doing it once. It automatically logs a person back out another issue which I've been having is with the carrot app at times it doesnt work and so there are few mistakes hoping the insurance company can take it on board and develop their business to a success.

I took out carrot insurance as a first time driver. When I bought my first car and signed up with carrot. The customer service from start to finish was amazing. I then got my black box fitted. I was unsure of how to get my log in details and so I rang customer service. They soon gave me the details and I was ready to get back on the road and track how well I drive.

Only good thing about the company is the competitive pricing however the customer service is beyond poor there is no communication whatsoever or guidance and the telematics box does not always calculate the speed score correct.

Was on hold for 1 hour before I was spoken to prices for top up miles are expensive black box scores and correct as received an email saying the scores were different to how I actually drive i think it’s so they don’t give me as much of a discount on the following year

Good price and efficient when getting you to sign on the dotted line. After sales inefficient - I had to send documents twice. Call waiting times are just ridiculously long. I gave up after 30 mins.

only thing good about it is the competitive pricing when i was asked to send a copy of my driving license there was no communication and the telematics box installed does not always add up the score correct. At times the box interrupts with my radio signal not allowing me to listen to the radio at times.
