Trying to contact them is a massive ball ache, you miss one of their calls and ring the number they’ve provided, just for you to have to sit and go through all the options (them asking for a call back not being one) and even if you do make it to the end, then you’re just on hold for 40 minutes. Same with their Live Chat feature, takes just as long if not longer to connect to an Operative, and when you do they seem under equipped to actually do anything from their end because of security reasons, thus suggesting to ring them instead; it’s just one bit vicious circle. After having a Red Week in which all my scores were negative, i was determined to make amends and better my score as 2 consecutive Red Weeks leads to termination of your policy. But then there’s the problem of getting out of the Red Week. You drive too long and Usage goes down, you drive a distance that they say you can walk instead and Usage goes down. Usage was the main problem for me as my speed and smoothness were both green and adequate. Would definitely not recommend but I can’t leave as I will he charged 48% of my policy amount, which equates to just £1000. Absolutely ridiculous.

Customer service is really spotty, some call handlers are just uninformed about insurance. The app is downright awful

Carrot insures me with no issues, the page froze and I made a double payment on my card! I called Carrot and they issued me a refund which will be processed within 5 working days which is great only con is that I was waiting to get through to the customer service team for a while!

I would not recommend this insurance; they add me auto renew on my policy and charge me £ 35 although I was with them for 2 years and never made any claim; when I try to talk to the costumer team I had to made several phone calls and I was on hold for more than an hour. staff is rude and not helpful so imagine if you make any claim what to expect from this company. never ever

Had a massive dispute over bad service made me pay for something that I shouldn’t have and then tried requesting more money off my self. After around 2weeks of back and forth it was actually them that owed me money in the end. I will never renew with this company again. Nothing but trouble

The app hasnt worked for weeks. Missing out on treats. When you call the office your be on hold for about an hour

I like the way carrot insurance tries to encourage people to drive safely by giving out treats. I think this is a very good idea. I also like the format of the app, I think everything that’s included is useful in terms of knowing if you are driving safe.

Contacting Carrot feels almost impossible even though it has a number to call Live chat which never works Email that is never answered Twitter and Facebook What’s going on it takes hours and days just to get through

I would like to take the time to give some feedback on my time with carrot car insurance. Firstly I would like to mention the call wait time is appalling, rude staff members it takes 35+ minutes to get through to someone, not helpful would not recommend for anyone to use this provider. Secondly, the staff don’t seem to care about anyone’s situation and seem to be very non understanding. Definitely do not recommend and will not be renewing.

I haven't been with carrot insurance for very long, however, I have only ever had a good experience with them. I love the New Driver Dashboard and how I can check how I am doing because as a new driver, I think that's very important. The rewards is an amazing thing to do also. Their customer service is also great, there are many ways to get in touch and there's always somebody very helpful on the other side. The price of my insurance was also very reasonable for a very new driver.

There isn’t a customer service. You have to wait a minimum of 45 minutes on the phone while on hold. By the time they answer you’ve forgotten your question. When question they just reply with ‘We’re understaffed’ unfortunately that isn’t my problem so this isn’t the right excuse. Price was fairly ok. Using the app as a black box isn’t the best as it’s easily forgotten and then you get penalised.

Carrot Insurance are honest, reliable insurers of new drives, like myself. The constant rewards I receive through the drivers dashboard app are great. Furthermore, when I was close to reaching my insured miles limit, I was relieved to find out that carrot had given me 1000 courtesy miles as part of my policy! I honestly can't recommend carrot enough and all my friends use it too. If you're a new driver, carrot is definitely the insurer for you.
