The price of my insurance was cheaper than anywhere else, however, I really struggled to make contact with them when I had issues with my insurance. I would be on hold for 45 minutes before giving up. I also emailed but heard nothing back. In the end I had to leave comments on their Facebook to get them to contact me. When they cancelled my insurance due to my headlights being modified, which I completely understand even though I was unaware they were modified, they expected me to pay the cancellation fee even though they were cancelling my insurance. Once I explained that surely that can't be correct if they're choosing to cancel it (once again I understand why they cancelled it) they were more than happy to waiver the fee. I spoke to someone called Vicky on the phone who was really helpful just such a shame I had to wait so long. Due to Carrot's prices it would of been nice to stay with them but if it wasn't for that I would not be recommending them.

Good Insurance company for when you're looking to reduce costs. It takes a while to get in contact when there is an issue however the issue is always resolved and the customer service is good. You get weekly treats which is good for motivation. I would reccommend Carrot insurance.

Good insurance company for young drivers. The reward points that you can exchange in a variety of different shops is great motivation to drive safely and reduce the likeliness of accidents. I am just finishing my first years insurance and am very pleased. Would recommend Carrot to a friend.

Having been a carrot customer for 3 years I was really impressed with the services they provided. I first got my insurance through carrot when I first passed my test and stayed with them ever since, the prices were really reasonable and always better than other prices I was being offered. They offer a handy app where you can check your driving scores and collect rewards for keeping your score high. If I ever needed to speak to a member of staff they were always really helpful and friendly and easy to get hold of.

The general communication and customer service is good, I've never had a problem with getting in touch or getting info either. Prices are generally good also. Few things let it down as a company such as the technology needed to comply with my policy not being available - this is annoying but as I have said they are good at contact so I'm always informed. It's a good policy for a new driver, especially for simplicity for in future I will definitely look at cheaper companies.

Price was cheaper than other companies. Brilliant customer service and very polite but it takes days to get hold of them even though they have several different ways of contacting them. Top up miles weren’t too expensive. Completed a new method of box application and received the points on my account without hesitation.

This insurance company needs to be on watch dog or maybe crime watch, they are offering cheap prices only to con you out of more money later on down the line, sending emails threatening to cancel your policy and not having enough staff to answer the phone, taking advantage of young drivers, don't bother wasting your money, it's worth paying more for a better company, you get what you pay for, in this case your getting a lot of hassle

First not answer emails , take a while to get through your phone calls to customer service, Secand if you have a black box and if u you get 3-4 weeks Amber they will cancellation your policy which’s not fair .

I haven’t been with you long but so far I’ve had a good experience. It does take a while to get through to someone on the phone or live chat but quick service when I needed the wingman delivered to my house it was here in 2 days.

App needs to be on at all times. Can’t afford for your phone to go off, and you can’t put it in airplane mode. Same for turning off Bluetooth, they want it on 24/7. Was threatened of a policy cancellation about halfway through my policy due to these factors, but the lady I spoke to regarding this managed to withdraw the cancellation as I was not aware putting my phone in low power mode also affected the use of the app. Very hard to get ‘green’ driving scores every week if you do long journeys or drive at night. Not to mention your policy can be cancelled if you have 4 red weeks ( or 2 consecutive red weeks). Drifting over the speed limit, especially on motorway journeys guarantees a red score. Also very long waiting times for phone calls and long email replies as others mentioned. My policy expires next week, but I am renewing with another insurer without blackbox, as i don’t think the hassle is worth the saving you get. I somewhat regret even starting out my driving experience with carrot if I knew it was going to be this flawed. Would advise anyone to use a different insurer, ideally non black box as a lot of people take out black box insurance without knowing what’s in store. For those who can only afford insurance with a black box, there must be other insurance providers who provide a better service than carrot, even if it’s marginally a bit more expensive.

I have recently just just renewed my car insurance Carrot Insurance for the second year and I have next to no complaints. The only issue i have is it takes too long to get through to the team on the phone other than that everything is great. all of the customer service advisors are nice, the price of the insurance is the lowest i have seen and they are quick to help you with any queries you have on the phone. however i have also had a few issues with them not receiving my emails.

They do not reply to emails (awaiting a reply to 5 emails over past 3 weeks) asking to explain inconsistencies in scoring or how they arrive at their scoring.
