Was with there for home insurance but it went up from sau 14 to 20 pcm with full no claims, and they auto renewed and when I challenged it they said there would be a big fee to pay to leave, so I left it. They were not helpfull at all, and I left it, to then cancel in Dec 2024 saving 7 pound a month easily for same cover. They then charged 21 pounds to leave but we were in the 14 day? Cool off period still. Would never use again, big corporate attitude, had enough in my life of that.

I am finding it very difficult and frustrating just trying to talk to anyone at LV. They don't even have an email or postal address I can write to.

I was looking for a cheaper Home Insurance quote as my price had gone up yet again after years of having no claims. Thought LV would be a good starting place as they use to be a good insurer. So went online to get a quote, went through all the questions etc and finally got the quote and saved it, so a copy would be sent to my email address as stated and I could go back onine to check all the details of what I would be insured for and also make any changes if required. When I hit saved it then sent me to the next screen which said enter your Home reference number, email etc to view your details. As I didn't have a reference number, which I found out afterwards as you have to have current insurance with them, I just saved again as couldn't get out of the screen but it just put me back to the first screen so tried again and same thing accured so you are just going round in circles! I checked my email several times nothing arrived from LV so subsequently tried to call them, try finding a contact number on their site its a nightmare as they want you do do everything online &/or use there chat line which was absolutely useless! Eventually found a number but the person I spoke to told me she couldn't help as the main team or whatever work 9-5pm and it was 5.30pm and gave me the correct number to call the next day. That number was no longer in use so had to ring up the same number, this time the lady said she we would put me through on the internal line, she did, but to the life department which are completely a seperate unit from the rest of LV. The person was helpful but unfortunately the number he gave me was no longer in service when I rang it! So I went back the following day to my original number I had used, explained all the problems I had previously had just trying to speak to someone and she said she would keep on the line to make sure I got through to the right dept, which I finally did. On speaking to them the first thing she did was to advise me I could check the details and make any changes online before agreeing to the quote! So had to go through everything again with her and that I hadn't received an email etc. She then was quite helpful, she found my online quote and I changed a couple of things with her, but wanted to see the quote for myself before commiting to purchase. I also requested a monthly cost which she gave me, but they don't show you that as an alternative online, as obviously LV want you to pay in full from the start!!! She advised she would send the quote through and I would also hopefully, once received, be able to make any other changes online. The quote came through this time, though the monthly cost was missing and just the annual cost shown, but once again I could not check my quote online and if needed make any further changes! So just gave up on LV, as I spent hours wasting my time, just trying to obtain the best options for my household insurance. Since this I have checked on LV's record of paying out on claims on Household Insurance and they are quite a way down from other insurers on claims payments, which also shows on this site which I just found! So I am now quite glad that I didn't follow up and take the price offered and should have looked at their claims record of paying out to customers beforehand, which would have saved me a lot of time and trouble, before trying to get a quote! Also on further checking Allinaz now own LV and if you go direct to Allianz for a quote it is actually handled by a different section of LV and it is cheaper! The downside is you can only do the quote online, not speak to anyone! Well IMO whats the difference really? As it's quite obvious going to LV direct they really want you do your quote online as they make it as hard as possible to find any details of speaking to anyone about a quote!!! So my advise is, look elsewhere for Home Insurance and also before getting a quote from any insurer check, their record on paying out claims first, as most reviews just seem to show how helpful the staff are and if the price is good, rather than if you have a genuine claim, will the Insurer payout or try to delay &/or dispute the claim!

LV use a Emergency Home Insurance company called CET, this review is more about CET than LV. But to make people aware if they take out Home Emergency with LV – AVOID !! We had a boiler that was not working. On the first phone call to CET, we were told that we did not have Home Emergency Cover. We then called LV Home Insurance who confirmed that we did have the cover. So we called CET Back who then booked an engineer. The engineer came out to look at the boiler and said that a valve needed replacing, but said that since the boiler had not been serviced he could not repair the boiler that was not working. We explained that the boiler had been serviced regularly annually, he left without fixing. We then found the annual boiler service certificate (that was valid until 20 Dec 2024), so we had to call CET again and provide proof. After 1 day of no communication from CET, we called again, another engineer was dispatched. This time the engineer said the gas supplying the boiler was not at the correct pressure. If this was the case why has the boiler been working for 9 years !!!. We got an independent engineer and paid for the boiler to be fixed at our cost, nothing to do with what the 2 CET engineers had said. CET are a very poor company, their engineers are always looking for an excuse to not fix the problem. Rather than looking at how they can fix the problem. Over the years we had insurance with Aviva who use Homeserve, they provide a much better customer experience and they most ALWAYS fix the issue. I will not use LV again and will check who the House Insurance company use for emergencies. AVOID CET.

I have pet insurance with LV and I tried to put a claim in for a hernia operation for my dog but because she was spayed 18 months ago and this could possibly be the cause and I say possibly they have rejected the claim so why have insurance when they get out of everything using the small print

Had a home insurance claim, firstly premium almost doubled due to us claiming. They pass the claim over to a contractor and will not have any more dealings with you. They do not want to know. They make the contractor deal with other parties on the claim and manage the claim in full. If you call them, they put you through to the builders who they have instructed on your claim. They do not want to know. Really useless and unhelpful. I actually felt sorry for the contractors.

I use to recommend LV but in the last two years i would not recommend them to anyone. The staff expect respect but are impatient and rude and have no time for people who are older and need more time to understand or make their mind up. They keep you waiting for up to 20 minutes before connecting you to an advisor, and when connected to an advisor he or she is rude and impatient. Policy has increased by 70% despite no claims being made. LV needs to fix up or continue to lose customers. I contacted LV on behalf of an 88 year old customer who had hearing difficulties.

Home (buildings insurance ) went from £418 to £618 in a year. Not had to make a claim ever and been with them for years. What would it be next year if I stayed with them. What happen to this good company--- now owned by Allianz ! Can't imagine that they will suceed much longer.

LV destroyed my bathroom and refused to fix it for 6 month. I am a 78 years old widow living on my own and have mobility issues. I need the use of the downstairs bathroom to avoid the stairs. LV came to fix my downstairs bathroom floor that had water damage. In the process of "fixing" this damage, they smashed the bathroom suite. This resulted in them leaving the bathroom completely ruined for 5 months with no floor, no bath and no sink, they left the toilet in the sitting room. After months of time chasing and arguing with LV they still refused to fix the broken bathroom but instead agreed to give us some money. This is currently with the legal Ombudsman to help us get proper compensation for our time, stress and grief. Avoid this company at all cost.

It is crucial to be aware of their manipulative strategies; they will go to great lengths to deceive you into making an investment, which could lead to your financial ruin. I was fortunate that A C T I N V S T L T D . COM assisted me in retrieving my money.

Why would I renew my policy with a company that kept me on hold for 20minutes before I gave up?

Like reviews.io, as it's more accurate site for us. Looks like I am not single one to have bad experience with LV Insurance then. I was absolutely shocked to see my car insurance renewal price increase by 50% this year! It’s incredibly disappointing that there were no good deals offered for loyal customers, despite years of commitment. However, this situation turned out to be a blessing in disguise. After shopping around, I found a much better deal with another provider. Not only did I save several hundred pounds, but I also ended up with better coverage! If you're facing a similar hike, I highly recommend exploring your options—loyalty clearly doesn’t always pay off.

Not used them, nor will I because if you watch their TV adverts they only cater to black people. Not a good idea to advertise to just 4% of the population!
