“I would have given them a zero ratling if it was an option. No previous claims made but when I had to call out a locksmith to get into my house at a cost of 300 pounds they insisted on a crime number is before they would '' consider '' my claim. They said they would get back to me within 48hrs, two weeks later after emailing and phoning them several times I was informed that my claim was being dismissed . Avoid at all costs. Also be aware that Direct line, who claim they are not on comparison sites actually are, same company. Be warned.”
“One of the worst insurance companies I know. It all depends on the situation in which the person is. They treated me like a fraud and tried to convince me that the accident was my fault. Without my consent, they agreed to half of the guilt I found out about after I changed my insurer after 3 years.
I do not recommend it with all my heart”
“I had car insurance with them for 9 years everything was OK. This year they changed everything I didn't have any extras apart of glass damage 😡. They renewed my insurance and price for it was shocking 😡. On monthly payments they wanted me to pay £77 for car insurance where other companies price it for £50/55 , also giving a lot of extras like breakdown cover etc. I am very disappointed as loyal customer I was treated like that. Definitely not recommended Privilege to others.”
“I asked for a copy of the insurance certificate for my car. I was told my policy had lapsed even though it had an automatic renewal. Trying to get hold of someone has been a nightmare - chat cut me off and I have waited so long for my call to be answered I have given up - dreadful - would not recommend”

But on trying to renew my insurance was told I could not do direct debit anymore so I agreed to pay whole amount in full was then informed that the system is down and will call me back I then received an email to say they will not be offering me an renewal after all.no explanation. I was with them for a year, I purchased through a price comparison site.
They automatically renewed my policy, even though I didn't want them to and had got insurance elsewhere. I called them immediately after the weekend and bank holiday which they were closed and they agreed to refund me in full as I obviously didn't need the policy and to my mind should not have been renewed.
I then get the letter through and they have charged me £5.12 for the time insured which I never wanted and didn't use. This is a very good example of a company that will make short-term profit from you, I would recommend you go elsewhere if this is how they see customers. Very disappointed, you have lost my future business, all over a fiver!!”

if you intent using your car in Europe don't use this Company.
I took the top level of car insurance with Privilege the Plus with Guaranteed car hire. had A tire blow out on the motorway and hit the Barrier one side with medium damage, they wrote the car off without getting a quote, said I was not entitled to a hire car in europe and would only but £ 500 toward me getting home from Spain, had dog with us meant I had to hire car and drop off in france £ 1,350.00. have made over thirty calls over 6 weeks, they still have not offered a penny for the write off,. never call back and never do what they say they are going to do. there has to be better companies than this offering car Insurance”

“We've had our house insurance with Privilege for many years. (with maximum, no claims) However this year they increased our renewal premium by £80...waited 21minutes on a never-ending phone queue, to speak to them about it... But they refused to reduced the renewal premium.
So much, for rewarding customer loyalty. l will shop around in future and l advise anyone else to do the same.”
