Absolutely shocking customer service, it took 2 days from reporting the claim to getting a courtesy car, one that was significantly smaller engine and smaller car which led to having to hire my own car, a cost that swiftcover refused to pay, as I was moving from the north to the south of England and couldn't fit my belongings in the 1 litre car that was offered. Spent 2 days receiving non stop calls from repairers and car rescue companies who didn't know what was going on or even where my car was going to be repaired and several hours on hold and speaking to rude, unhelpful staff at swiftcover. Avoid at all costs!!

My 80 year old mother in law had a buildings and contents policy with Swift for several years. In February she went into a care home suffering from severe dementia. Swift would not cover her unoccupied policy for buildings only insurance so we took out a policy elsewhere whilst her bungalow was for sale. Rather than cancel the policy with a short time to run we wrote and told them she would not be renewing (and why) and cancelled the direct debit once the final premium for that year had been paid. Unfortunately they would only speak to the policy holder before they would cancel the policy, even at renewal and although they wouldn't insure an empty property anyway. They are now pursuing her for money to renew the policy and threatening her with court action. Mercifully she is completely oblivious to all this. What ever happened to common sense! Employees of Swift seem to of had theirs removed on their first day.

Online maintenance of a motor policy is what attracted me in the first place, initially with reasonable premiums too. You only really know the quality of an insurer when you make a claim or decide not to renew. My partner made a no-fault claim and this was a very protracted experience, the main problem being you’re not allocated a claims handler, so each communication is always from a different person who doesn’t know (or hasn’t bothered to read) the past history. It was settled in the end but not before my partner opted to take it to court. My own hiked premium this year encouraged me to look at the market. My Swiftcover (part of the AXA group) policy did not include Personal Accident, Legal Assistance, Courtesy Car, etc. but I found alternative cover which included all these for a much lower premium. My main issue occurred when I wanted to cancel at the renewal date (they do automatic renewals). Despite it being an online policy they don’t allow you to cancel online so you have the hassle of calling to discuss. I cancelled the policy and received a confirmation e-mail and took out the new policy elsewhere. At the renewal date I received a text from Swiftcover saying “Good news! You’re Swiftcovered again! Thank you for choosing us again”. I was straight on the case and they had indeed charged the whole premium to my credit card. I see this as pure theft and they refuse to make immediate repayment saying we have a 7-day refund policy!! Again, every communication is from a different person. AVOID AT ALL COSTS or you’ll regret it in the end.

I had a policy with Swift Cover, for home insurance (I paid upfront for the year). When it recently expired, I went with a different company. A few weeks ago, Swift sent me a letter saying I owe them money! The tone was quite aggressive. I rang, they reckoned they had e-mailed and written (I hadn't received anything), telling me when my policy was due to expire. I told them I'm not interested, I've got cover. I've had a letter today, saying they want £31 and that if I don't pay, the amount increases, and that letters they send will be charged for too! I told themI'm not paying, can't pay, won't pay. They say that they automatically renew the annual policy. Cheeky gits. They can whistle for it

I took out home contents insurance for my flat but when i cancelled my plan and moved i was sent threatening letters stating I owed money. I since found out that my letters were sent to my old address (useful!) Eventhough they had my email. The fact i paid my direct debit and was charged an extra £21 for absolutely nothing means i'll never be using this company again. I was given a very short deadline of 4 days to pay the extra money that they wanted to take from me.

Had a crash 2 years ago , the lady drove into me and took out my wing. She's saying I drove into her now after putting a 50/50 claim on the table and swift cover strongly advising me to take it otherwise I could be found liable - so begrudgingly I said yes thought everything was going through only to eventually find out she had withdrawn the 50/50 a year into it . Swift cover didn't inform me and today to my home address I have received a court bill for 4K to be paid ?! Still nothing from swift cover Doesn't even feel when I go to court I will have any back up from them In short unreliable, un contactable the worst insurance company I have ever come across

------ The worst insurance company. Renewed my insurance with Swift Cover this year as it was the cheapest and had good reviews. Unfortunately, I had an accident in February - my first. A day after having an accident, they sent an email saying that the accident was my fault and that there was nothing that they could do, but accept liability. They made this decision without seeing the car, pictures or any evidence and would not discuss the accident with me. What is the point in an insurance company that will not back you up and support you with a claim? I will be taking this further. Would not recommend to anyone.

I was a customer of swift for 7 years, no claims. Sold my car, told them I didn't want the automatic renewal when it came through and was charged 1 month + cancellation fees having to pay over £70. Very poor and disappointing.

Given a chance they will rip you off. Like changing your car over, I changed an Alfa Romeo GT to a little Peugeot 306 and my insurance went up about £200, I done all I could to argue how unjust it was but they just said "oh sorry they were just the prices for day" basically said... Oh sorry we just ripped you off but there's not anything you can do about it oh and I had to that online cause to make that simple change over phone was a £30 charge.

Don't be fooled by the idea that doing everything yourself online is easier, the online appliction has some real problems. You end up calling, listening to a 20 minute message about everthing being easier online, only to be told there's nothing they can do. Another company that is great until you need them. 0/10

A loyal swift customer for 8 yrs, with no claims made. Last year my car got keyed and my car needed a respay. NOT only were the repair garage over an hour away but they returned my car in an unroadworthy condition. To add insult to injury despite having protected no claims my Premium jumped from £350 to £650! Sorry swift you have lost this customer.

Beware of Auto-renew! Purchased a policy with these clowns for a year, but they rather sneakily keep renewing and taking your money. When I called to cancel they then charge you for the privilege. I'd highly recommend you avoid these idiots. They'll scalp you, and keep dipping into your bank account for eternity if they can. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Do these people work for this crap company I WOULD NOT INSURE ANYTHING the service is a total joke got a claim don't bother they wont pay out. Best to rip your policy up and get a decent company who put customers first not last. Should not be trading in this sector. Cant stress enough how crap this company is. A torrent of four letter words some them up.

Always comes up the cheapest on the comparison site. Happy days But policy donsnt exist Sad days So after being redirected to swift's website and answering a few more questions, I also answer correctly. Have a job, married, middle aged, own my own house, etc setting up direct debits and entering card details for initial payment I'm then told they underwriter doesn't want to insure based in info give :-( I called them really to complain they wasted my time pretending to be the cheapest, they had all the info when making the original quote, i also wanted to find out what the issue was. Clearly the goon in the call centre just had a script to follow. and was as much use as a chocolate fire guard Same experience two years running
