They are absolutely awful. 20 minute waiting times 5 times in a week to try and pay an instalment as I cancelled my DD as they kept taking the money twice over a few months. Appalling Customer Service. Do not use.

Paid for policy but no link to documents received. Been trying all morning to contact them - phone is either dead or never answered. Very bad experience indeed

Sold my property and now need to cancel i've had three stints of being on hold now for 30-40 minutes each time. Unbelievable!

I had to insure an empty property and the policy shop offered a reasonably good deal. The property is now sold and I have been trying to contact them for three days now to cancel the policy. Someone eventually answered yesterday afternoon who was taking messages and I was told someone would call within 24 hours, of course they didn't. I have been trying all day again today the longest time I hung on for was 45 minutes. This is the worst service I have ever had from a company in terms of customer service. There is no email address and their online complaint link takes you through to a European website. I will report them to the FSA if I cannot get a response tomorrow.

l have been with the policy shop for 3 years, last year my insurance was £416 with them, this year l had to ring 3 times to get the renewal quote, when i got the quote l nearly fell over, l have 11 years NCB protected they quoted me £1289, l rang and they advised that this was the best price they had, have also found out they are now run by the insurance factory now, l cancelled and asked for my proof of NCB the adviser said okay, there was no lets see if we can improve on that it seemed that they did not give a s*** about my custom, at least dick turpin wore a mask, went with direct line they quoted me £436 with less excess, AVOID, WHAT A JOKE

rip off merchants charged over 200 pounds to change vehicle should have been 25-30 pounds to do this

I would rate zero or -5.this company should be shut down. Totaly ripp off. Never helped customer. Increasing insurance price just with letter. Gave me two weeks to pay my outstanding balance. I asked them to wait 4 extra days because i am pay monthly not weekly. They rather canceled my insurance than wait 4 more days. In letter says we have lots of way to help avoid totaly this company. Hell just starting

Total utter scammers. Gave me a fine for going over my black box limit which they said would be taken out of my bank at the end of the month and to make sure my account was up to date with the money. The didn't take it out for 2 months and when I rang them up they said I had to phone up to pay, when the letter said it will come out at the end of the month. They cancelled my insurance over this and gave me a hefty cancellation fee. I now struggle to get insurance as being cancelled has shot my quotes up.

Total rip off company just out to rip people off, paid hundreds for my sons insurance and tried to charge loads more for miles daylight robbery avoid this company at all cost

Do not go with my policy! They come up as cheapest but that's because they monitor the amount of miles you drive with the black box and charge you hundreds to pay for extra miles, scammers! The cost of extra miles also depends on how well you drive, and they monitor your "usage", which massively lowers your score if you drive every day, in the evenings or drive long or short journeys, but they don't actually specify how long is a long journey and how long is a short journey?! It's all fabricated to make as much money as possible, and if you try to cancel they charge you hugely

They moan and complain at your driving for absolutely anything. I do a lot of miles a week and they charge your stupid money to add extra miles, you're better off paying the extra and going with a more known and better company, would highly recommend not to insure with this company, my insurance runs out in 3 weeks and I 100% won't be renewing it.

THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN> INSUR EVERYTHING AND COVER NOTHING. YOU PAY TO GET IN AND YOU PAY TO GET OUT. EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD ONE CLAIM THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY TO GET IN AND TAKE IT AGAIN IF YOU TRY AND GET OUT. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. READ THE REVIEWS. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THE STAFF ARE WELL VERSED IN HOW TO DEAL WITH EVERY CALL. THE CUSTOMER DOESNT HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON.

Impossible to deal with. Want to cancel policy but again. I call again today and ask if there will be any charges for this. They will not tell me . Have to wait till the next instalment comes out of the bank because they are hooked up with Close Brothers and they say that it takes 5 days for direct debit to clear. What are they on??? This outfit are a disgrace. I have been insured by them for 7 years and never made a claim.I wish I had read the reviews before I signed up. I would advise anyone looking for insurance to use anybody but them. They should be closed down. `DO NOT USE THEM `````

Couldn't get in contact with them to set up a policy. Spent over an hour on hold twice. Not good enough these days.

Everything went wrong. I was with them for 2 years but after the time they decided to put my price up from £45 to £90 a month so I decided that I will not renew with them. Unfortunately the insurance has renew it self when I was on holiday but as usual I though that I can cancell within 14 days without any charged as this is the late. I couldn't be more wrong they have charged me £75 for 8 days on the insurance!!! The worst thing about this is I have received the letter to pay the outstanding amount on the 20/3/17. I was willing to pay that but the letter said I have 6 days from the date on the letter to pay this otherwise it will be transferred over to dept company but the date on the letter was 9/3/17 but I received it on 20/3/17. This company is a joke. Stay away!!

Wish i read reviews before going with this company. been with them for 9 months and have nearly spent 600 on just getting 2000 miles absolute rip off, found a better insurance company so went to cancel AND IT WAS £365 TO CANCEL! Do not go with company, scammers

Please keep well away from this company my 17 year old son has got insurance with them and they are the worst company we have ever delt with all they want to do is charge charge charge for miles so far they have taken £3000 of him they are scandals stay well away

I have been with the Policy Shop for 2 years in regards to home insurance for both buildings & content. I have never made a claim and this year's renewal is 50% more than what I paid last year and they tried to give me all excuses until they had admitted they had migrated with another company and this might be why. Is this really how you treat your customers, I would not recommend this company to anybody. Please refrain from using them as they are committing day light robbery. Mr J Akhter Nottingham

I did not really get to the start line with this company. My details were fed in for home insurance on the GoCompare website. Then I fed through to the Policy Shop website, where I had to repeat exactly the same lengthy details. Then I had to telephone the Policy Shop, who promised to get back. They did not. Next day I telephone again and this time they did get back. Unfortunately, they required that we go through all the details as filled out twice online yet again before they could quote. I have a life I want to live, and it is too short to be endlessly filling in my details for an insurance broker. Now I will get on to someone else who will simply accept my online details and give me a policy.
