Awful Insurance company, they play you for every penny you have. Avoid at all costs. They are trying to charge me a £400 pound cancellation fee after a year of being stuck with them because they renewed without sending me a letter. I don't know what I am going to do - they take advantage of new drivers. Awful, awful company.

If I could choose to not to give any stars I would give 0 stars. Black Box readings are inacurrate. I have used different company with a black box before and always had top scores. This company is highly not reccomended!

I will second the last review. I paid almost £400 down on my insurance policy to be paid monthly, they were the second cheapest company quote wise with a black box to be fitted. So I presumed they wouldn't be as shoddy as someone like 'GoSkippy' I'm a first time car owner and passed my test in early October 2016, with a dependent child. Everything was fine to begin with, quick and easy to set up with key cover at a reasonable rate, sadly came the day for my black box to be fitted (Shortly after a really bad bereavement in the family, so a car was and is still much needed!) the man did all electrical checks on my car and had me sign the deceleration. I leave him to fit the box and 5 minutes later he shows up at my door handing me my car keys telling me the insurance company have told him to cancel the fitting of the box! With everything going on, I'm having a small break down and ring the insurance company up who tell me my car has 'Alloy tyres' My car is a Corsa 1.0 Life 2004 plate, it's literally a tin can on wheels, so this surprised me to hear! I've heard of 'Alloys' but I couldn't tell you what they looked like or what they were, I explained this to the guy on the phone as best I could because with all the stress at this point I was in tears down the phone feeling the right idiot. I was told 'This happens a lot with new drivers who just don't know if they have modifications on their cars' I told him that i'd just lost my father in law in a horrible manner and that I needed my car more than ever now, in fairness he said he'd see what he could do, but this meant phoning the ACTUAL people who insured me, because they're a third party insurance. A middle man if you will. He spoke to the company and asked them if I changed my wheels to standard wheels which bore the Vauxhall plates if they'd consider keeping me insured. Their answer was 'no' because they don't deal with modified cars that don't have wheels that hold the cars logo. Which meant they got to keep all of my money and charge me! Luckily the guy on the phone managed to get me a 'Good will deal' off his manager and halved the cancellation fee. Sadly I don't have another £400 to put down on my insurance just yet and will have to use a bus to sort everything needed to bury my father in law. All because this company use a money grabbing third party insurance company. I'd 100% stay clear of this insurance company! They're out for your money and would probably make your insurance invalid for hanging an air freshener off your mirror - because in their eyes, it's a modification, even if you're unaware! Spend the extra £100 and get someone reliable and trust worthy.

Before I took out insurance, I didn't realise they can charge you extra premium even after I paid upfront. If you're already tight on money, you will be checking their dashboard regularly, which doesn't update regularly! Their acceleration & braking scores are unreliable. One day, a 3 mile journey, I accelerated from clutch only, no gas. And, accelerated slowly thereafter. I also gently braked early. Still driving score for acceleration & braking less then 30/100! I'm assuming the majority of people insured (or looking to get insured) are students, who are already tight on cash. Forget exam stress! You will be stressing out every month when they "review" your policy & consequently charge you extortionate amounts for "bad driving". By the way, I've been charged an extra £320 in my second month. Therefore I'm cancelling ASAP. As I can't increase my driving score no matter how hard I try, and I don't want to be hit with another premium bump.

I would advise anyone who is thinking of taken insurance out with wisedriving NOT TOO! i changed from Admiral to Wisedriving because they were coming up £10 cheaper than admiral so i decided to move. I got the littlebox fitted in my car (which i had with admiral) so i wasnt fussed about getting it fitted for wisedriving! First payment was £56 which was great then my second payment i was advised my premium was going up to £204 because of my driving dashboard and my little box. I was apparently harsh braking, speeding and accelerating too harsh. This was just a scam for me because being with admiral for many years i never had a problem with my driving. Also the customer service of wisedriving is a complete joke. They keep you on hold for hours and give you no answers to any of your questions they are asking. This is very unprofessional for a company. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!!! ABSOLUTE SCAMS

My husband took out a policy with Wisedriving the week he passed his test a couple of months ago and had a black box fitted. We were paying £126 a month but got an email this morning to say that our premium was going up to £224 as of November 19th with absolutely no details as to why. My husband rang to find out and was told that they do 30, 60 & 90 day reviews and at the 60 day review his driving score had dropped below 50% but they couldn't actually tell him what it was and promised to send him the details for the dashboard (which we haven't had since the policy started) This is total bullshit because when hubster rang at 30 days to get his score he got 86% - so unless he has started driving like a maniac they are scamming money out of us. We will be cancelling our policy no matter what the cancellation fee is as it wont outweigh the 30% increase in premium! Absolutely disgusting and I am shocked that companies are allowed to operate like this. DO NOT GET YOUR INSURANCE FROM HERE!

Absolutely appalling company nobody knows what they are doing. I have been on the telephone all week as I haven't had an accident and I am leaving the company after a year and want my no claims. They have put a 0 fault claim on my no claims and won't take it off. This is causing my new insurance company to put my new insurance up I am so angry. Please do not go with wise driving. I am going all the way with this and will fight for my rights absolutely shocking treatment they think we are young and stupid and they keep ripping us off.

Took an insurance policy out last September with the installation of a black box as my wife was a first time driver. Each month she received feed back in her driving which was not only good but under the category as "excellent" therefore continued throughout the year in the hope her insurance will reduce the following year. The insurance renewal came through the post I nearly fainted it had more than doubled from £1100 to a staggering £2600 I immediately was on the phone to a useless clueless member of staff who advised me the black box doesn't guarantee a reduction in insurance as they initially promised. I was really angry not only did they lie but doubled my insurance. I immediately cancelled my policy took my business to lloyds at not only a cheaper price but no need for a black box, but at the cost of £75.00 cancellation fee and £90.00 to remove the black box. BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY use a well known company it pays off.

I had a car accident where that was not my fault. That happened on M25 with over 60 mph speed. There were many smoke inside the car, that made me was not able to see outside. I cannot explain the damage of the back of my vehicle. Also, I did not exchange details with the third party(the person who hit me) as we went to hospital by an ambulance. I and my friend almost got killed at that monent. However, this car insurer asked me aggrassively why I did not exchange the details and how the damage happened. I already expained the reasons. Then, Wisedriving said we reject your claim and you needed to do by yourself by calling the third party company. What a terrible service does Wisedriving offer. Please do not use this insurer, because Wisedriving is only a middle man (broker).

Wise driving are the worst company I have ever had to deal with . They consistently take extra payments from me , cancel my policy , never call me back and tell me something different each time I call to complain / find out why my policy has been " accidentally " cancelled AGAIN. If I had more time to explain everything that has gone wrong then I would but I have already wasted a substantial amount of time on these jokers. DO NOT USE THEM

I had an accident where liability was disputed. I took insurance with wise driving. My premium was £1600 for a Citroën c3 1.4hdi. £1800 once there Apr was put on for monthly payment. Ideclared on my premium that I had an accident liability was disputed and it had affected my NCB. So accident is now sorted and I was found not at fault all cost recovered from other sides insurance . So I phone wise driving to tell them, and send them proof of my NCB. This took 6 hours to sort after being put on hold and hold again and this document is no good we need this, then that document is no good. Ask to speak to a manager and put on hold 3 times and disconnected all 3 times. Then when do get through on 7th attempt told that 4 years NCB had made no difference to my £1600 pound policy. So I take insurance on my car with 0 years NCB and pay 1600 yet I proof my NCB 4 years and my policy is the same price Everyone who has insurance knows the more NCB cheaper the insurance. When I took this quote out I explained that liability unsettled and asked what would happen when I was proofed not liable they assured me I would get back the extra money they had charged me for having no NCB once I proofed them. NOT NOW THEY WON'T. REALLY SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ELSEWHERE. Don't use there customer service is appalling and what they have done to me is appalling. I am having to get my solicitor to deal with this and go through there 8 week complaints procedure then if I get no where financial ombudsman to report them and then court. Do not use

Wise driving have very poor customer service. They are very deceptive and hide important information from you, it takes several calls in a row to get any information out of them. None of their departments are in correspondence with each other resulting in multiple letters making the situation very messy. Be careful of 'technical faults' as this is most likely someone cocking up, as this happened to me, but they tried to tell me 'oh no we do not have technical issues very often' when various technical issues happened to me over the period I was with them. If you decide to leave them make sure that they have definitely cancelled you, as I tried to leave and it took them 4 weeks to finally cancel me off during which point I had received an email from premium credit saying I need to pay the amount up front. All in all very disorganised, very unhelpful, very poor customer service. Do not trust this company they are incredibly deceptive, and will do everything they can to keep vital information from you.
