Is providing your social security number required to apply for medigap plans?
Asked by Judy (5 months ago)
A SSN is often required for a Medigap policy application; ultimately it depends on the insurance company's requirements.

Hello! Forgive me, but I have what is probably a stupid question, but I am going to ask it anyway. My husband signed up for Part A when he turned 65 in 2021. He is still working full time currently and has full benefits. For the open enrollment period going on now until December 7th, does he have to do/sign up for anything additional with that? Thank you so much for your time!
Asked by Kara (5 months ago)
There are no stupid questions, Kara. :) As long as your husband has “creditable” employer health insurance, he does not need to sign up for Part B and can safely defer Part B without a penalty, meaning he doesn’t have to do anything during the annual enrollment period. Once he is ready to leave employer coverage, he can sign up for Part B, which does not have to happen during the AEP or OEP window. https://www.medicare.gov/basics/get-started-with-medicare/medicare-basics/working-past-65

How is it possible to have almost 1000 five star reviews unless those under 5star were removed? My possible choices were supposed to be texted (as I requested). I've received 4 phone calls in 2hrs. Can't comment on quality of advice since I've not spoken to anyone. It might deserve 5stars, but my wishes weren't honored. Not one review under 5? Puh-lease.

Hi Glenn! You can sign up for Medicare A&B and get enrolled in your supplement three months before your birth month, so January 2024 in your case.

Good morning. My name is Ethel Buchanan; and I from Michigan. I didn't see where one could write a review for a specific individual person; so in addition to giving the company a 5 BECAUSE of Ms. Kimberly Smith's expertise, professional ism, and personality as she answered my questions today I'm writing a review here. She provided outstanding and informative service. Too, Ms. Kimberly Smith was very kind and professional when I called the Chapter Medicare office this morning between 9:20 A.M. - 9:26 A.M. Wow...she's awesome at what she does! Ethel Buchanan Rowe
