“Got scammed on gumtree and reported it add still on after a week they are not interested so reported to fraud squad for allowing bank fraud and money laundering BEWARE site is run by idiots”

“Do not trust this so called company they a they are rats the ripped me off 3 times for paid ad for £2.99 and once for £8.00 6 months later no advert no refund stay away at all cost”

“Absolutely rude, these guys will cancel your add without any notice whatsoever, gumtrees had its day there are other far better services out there like marketplace etc. I recently had my adds wiped from my account had some girl taryn come back and say they were just being checked all should be good but il have to re do my adds again as they had been wiped !! So did my adds again wiped again GO JUMP GUMTREE !!”

“Be aware of scams, there is a fraudster on the prowl on Gumtree. I've been defrauded most of the money in my account, have rang the bank. My money has been stolen by someone in Ukraine. I'll be refunded But be aware there is a fraudster on Gumtree.”

“Jerky freezy screen when you scroll dowm....too many little ads etc popping up...you go to click on something and the screen moves so you end up clicking on the wrong thing...makes the whole experience sh*t!”

“Arrogant customer support. Started account with them to sell my phone and camera just before Christmas to get rid of old items. They removed listings and said: "Upon review of your account, we’ve made the decision that we are not the appropriate advertising platform for you personally or your business model. We do appreciate your understanding and cooperation. I deeply apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and we thank you in advance for respecting our decision." Gumtree belongs to eBay and PayPal. They are monopolist on the market and you can do nothing with them. Hate all of them. Regards, Taylor 07943208887. P.S. I was using email with RU extension (not gmail one) on a non-google browser with every dodgy tracking blocked. Assume that was the real reason. They want to track you all the time.”

“Want to sell some of your items online? Don't waste your time. I put up an add for a Nintendo switch only for it to be pulled the moment I uploaded it. Why you ask? Well god only knows since they failed to provide a reason apparently an email was sent to me explaining why but that was just a lie.”

“Since fees started for selling. It has become obvious that gumtree is dead. I lead for $1.50. I had great success with other free platforms. Will not be using gumtree again”

“Third rate customer service provided by this third rate company. They take your money from your bank account and then do not allow you to post your add. You have to constantly chase them up to refund your money. They do not respond to emails and the live chat service they offer is mostly off line. Stay away from this unprofessional company!!!”

“Gum tree has no policy to help buyers. Be very a where if you want a refund gum tree will not help you. Gum tree very in safe when it comes to refunds. Always use Paypal, never use direct debit or credit card”

“Gumtree turned out to be the worst, prepare yourself: pay the fee for feature your advert, give your number as contact , too. Fasten your seatbelt, because only takes several seconds to get the first call from fastest scammer/telemarketer. 13 calls in 30 minutes, thanks for not protected phone number. For the extra fee, you paid , gumtree will guarantee to expose your number as much scammer , as possible. GumTree : protect contact numbers and run live chat customer service again. ( or is it well hidden?, can find in half an hour. )”

“Ideas great! Gumtree great! What idiot designed the app? Never able to access the site. Constantly bombarded with cookies. Advertisements. Confirm this accept that. I can't actually access the gumtree. All I get is cookies constantly asking me to accept them. So I don't use this site no more as its not possible. Do they not check there apps?”

“Great site When You Get A Decent person / buyer. The problem is the majority of users are absolute dotes who enquire with no intention whatsoever of buying from you and just intentionally waste your time! People even arrange to view or buy things from you and then don't turn up.. and they can then leave you negative feedback! Feedback system needs to be removed or altered entirely.. People who don't buy anything off you can leave you should not be able to leave feedback.. Could you imagine this on eBay. It destroys reputable businesses!”

“I have posted a few ads recently and have had quite a few responses. However, the majority of responses i have had have been time wasters. They ask if its available, arrange to collect and then don't turn up. And when you message to find out what's happening they ignore and don't get back to you. There should be something in place to keep a track if the people who do this. Also, I have a response rating of 78% but I reply to EVERY message i get, which I am very confused about.”
